yesterday on Grintovec warm, southern snow. Snow starts in the forest, from the saddle onwards alternating bare & snow, above 2200 snow only again. Crossing two snowfields requires some concentration, elsewhere no special features

Today afternoon on Grintovec, up to the saddle there's a little snow but it can be almost completely bypassed, from the hut onwards alternating bare and snow, the roof is all snowy.... afternoon the snow was still quite dry, so crampons stayed in the backpack.
Already at the height of Kalški greben1
Some snow and already quite a few snow-free sections at 2000 m2

I was up there on Sunday. Continuous snow starts at the beginning of Streha and was very hard all the way, icy at the top. But it increases with every meter. Otherwise conditions like in a fairy tale..

6.5.2017 - Bistrica-Grintovec-Bistrica. That's how it was today up there on the mountain... Trail dry to the Streha, then snow to the top. nasmeh As per the weather there was quite some "traffic" today. nasmeh

11.5.2017 - Grintavec via Streha. Snow only above 2100 meters anymore. Yesterday quite windy, fog on Streha reduced visibility to about 7 meters. Thanks to the hiker who went up Wednesday: if his footprints weren't visible, probably wouldn't have reached the top.

Today on Grintovec from Suhadolnik via Streha. Snow only about 80 length meters below summit, southern, sinks to ankle so winter gear stayed in backpack (if it freezes it'll be different). On summit snow to edge of signpost plate.

Weather partly cloudy, only summit fog which I'm used to on Grintovec. On descent spared knees using individual snow tongues reaching approx 2250m.

Via Taško at top of wooden steps some two meters odd traverse no handhold annoying esp descent. Ground on path crumbles under support log.

Continuous snow starts about 80 vertical meters from the top.3
At the top there is less than a meter of snow.4
At times the view opened over Pode.5
Avalanche deposit at the top of one of the gullies on the eastern side of Grintovec.6
Lower down it cleared. Kalška gora and Kalški greben.7
Individual snow tongues reach up to about 2250m and are very suitable for descent.8
Once again Kalška gora and Kalški greben.9
Koča na Kokrskem sedlu has a new weather vane and a large construction site.10
When one stumbles, it clears up at the summit. But not for long. Today it ended with a thunderstorm.11
The crossing at the top of the steps over Taško je, especially on descent, is a bit tricky.12

Ten days ago I headed to Grintovec via Žmavcarji and Mlinarsko sedlo. From the bivouac under GR to the saddle almost half the path on snow but no problems. From the ML saddle along the ridge also snowfields which could be bypassed somehow (ridge top or retreat to the south side). A little before the ridge end I turned back (no winter gear) - the last cable on the south ridge side was fully under snow, at the entry into the final Grintovec slope many steep snowfields were visible.
If anyone has walked this path in the last days, please share info on the current state.
