@gorskaroza, first read the comment and look at the pictures. Unless proof is only the written admission of the hutkeeper that she really cheats... or even a final judgment from the higher court. @Triglavska roža, on the PZS Economic Commission page it says in red capital letters "maximum prices for accommodation and basic services in mountain huts", nothing about non-binding prices. @dragon, not true. Fiscal cash registers allow invoice cancellation. You just issue a negative invoice, write "mistake" under the comment and then the correct invoice. But the point is not that, but that the hutkeeper claimed she simply CANNOT issue an invoice without bedding. Oh, and one more thing. From this year a new price regulation applies. It was in discussion for a long time. And hut keepers and PD managers had plenty of opportunities and time for their comments. Prices have concretely increased from last year, some by over 30% (last year sleeping on shared bunks 8€, this year 10.50€). But obviously for some gluttons even that's not enough and they've started merrily violating the new regulation right away. Well, not to mention violation of tax laws (2 completely different items on the price list and then excuse that the cash register doesn't allow it). Threatened fines for such things go into several 1000€, but for some it still hangs loose. When the tax office strikes once, there will be crying and wailing...

I think @Trobec provided plenty of evidence. Yes, the bill can be canceled and no cheating! If you just want to! Otherwise I'm not aware in other Alpine countries of any discounts for own bedding. It's included in the price, nobody probably drags their own along. And the cleanliness of such brought bedding is questionable anyway. Price comparison: Passo Fedaia, right under the queen of the Dolomites, private hut (no discounts): 30 EUR, in a four-bed room, hut incredibly equipped and furnished which compared to full price in some rundown hut at Planika somewhere in Slovenia is very affordable. Oh, with breakfast of course! Val d'Aosta: Rifugio Grand Tournalin, nicely furnished, private hut at ca. 2500 m.a.s.l. Overnight on shared bunks (much more comfy than at Planika): 20 EUR. With breakfast of course. In both huts nice toilets and bathrooms of course. No outhouses! You see that in Europe in really remote shacks.

A few years ago, in tolar times, they charged even 5 tolars for a piece drying above the stove at the Seven Lakes. Does anyone still remember that?

VanSims - with bedding brought along, there really can't be much wrong with it. I practice with Salewa's cotton bag, into which you crawl like into a sleeping bag and you can even cover the pillow so you have practically no contact with other covers. It takes up as much space in the backpack as one long-sleeve shirt. When you get home, you wash it like other things and prepare it for the next adventure. This saves some money and there's no need for those paid synthetic "sheets" that tear if you turn just a few times in bed. And we pollute the environment less. Just my thinking. As for prices..... , around Triglav the mountain huts have a cartel agreement on prices and of course no one will be cheaper because the others will come down on him over it.

It's pretty bad in our mountains, I see. I really didn't know. I like it a lot, even in huts. Prices don't bother me, food, if I eat it, seems good to me.

en-goldy: you wash it. What about others? I remember when I slept in European hostels, many places banned own sleeping bags especially in northern countries (specifically Germany comes to mind) purely for hygienic reasons. You never knew what they brought in with it. Regarding food I agree with @SamoK. Haven't eaten badly in our huts yet. True, I'm not picky about food and eat practically everything.

VanSims. Again mixing apples and pears. One thing is the bag as described by en-goldy, something completely different is the usual sleeping bag that owners use for sleeping everywhere, even in pigsties. Bags that are sheet substitute are also sold and recommended by PZS. According to their price list, there should be lower prices for overnight with such bags. How it is in practice we know.

Ugh, how uncomfortable that is. Like having to climb fully into a condom. Sure, abroad they usually require it, so I take it. But can't say it's particularly pleasant to sleep inside...

Last year I carried a light and thin sleeping bag with me. Because otherwise they charged that fee too. But not in all huts. Only in some. True, you had to tell beforehand. I don't like that plastic they offer in huts that tears quickly anyway.

Regarding sheets, cheating only if you came to pay overnight and said and showed your own suitable sheets. Specifically at Planika every bed has sheets already on it and not those artificial ones. (so you got the sheets you paid for) Probably you also mixed up that you slept in a room with over 6 beds and not on shared bunks. Planika has some larger rooms that are more comfortable and spacious and not counted as shared bunks. About 15 people fit in.

A room for 15 people is definitely a dormitory. Comfort doesn't carry any weight here. If when paying/booking the overnight stay you say you have your own bedding, of course the hut keeper can demand to see it and in that case you're obliged to show it. But if he doesn't demand it, he has no right to just charge for it.

The matter is simple, if you're at home in your own hut there are no problems, oh only if your wife nags. Otherwise nice words find a nice place. That we'll chase courts, police and such s. up the mountains, no not that. Folk before such s. we go up the hill so the head bursts. So watch what we do.

When I reminded them at PD Gorje that I've been waiting quite a while for a response regarding the "incident" at Planika, I get this back: (not by email but publicly - forum on the GK PZS site) Mountaineering Association Gorje, Thursday, July 28, 2016, at 14:31 Dear Sir! All official complaints have an official deadline of 8 working days, which hasn't passed yet. Unfortunately, we will not respond to such extortion that you are carrying out on the PZS website and various forums. Best regards, PD Gorje

Extortion ...., if you just point out mistakes, you're already an extortionist. After all, a forum is just some kind of space where everyone can share their opinion-thinking. One big minus for PD Gorje. It seems they don't care for nice words, for kindness, for solving the problem....it's only about money for them. Planika, Kredarica, Dolič and Stanič have a cartel agreement on prices and they ignore the prices or suggestions of PZS Slovenia.

Only right - if you've already shat on them on all forums before their response, they certainly won't come begging to you. But is it really necessary for every little sh.. that the whole world knows the same day? Maybe the woman is older and didn't know the cash register because it's new, she's maybe a bit stubborn, who gets trained if it's just barely started. But no, before the PD could contact her and try to sort it out, the forum was already full of shit. Don't carry your stove with you, sleep in a sleeping bag behind a rock and you won't whine. Mountains are anyway for chilling, not for getting nervous.

@korl 1. if you try to search for PD Gorje on Google it's total confusion, it throws out only useless hits, so I first posted where it makes most sense - on the GK PZS site. 2. the forum is mainly for informing and that's exactly why we have the "hut keepers" thread. Do you think it's forbidden to inform people about irregularities? 3. probably on average at least 50 people sleep in the hut every day, if not more. If they rip off each one for just 1€, it adds up to quite some money over the season and it's no longer a trifle. 4. that it's new is completely nonsense. The hut has been open since early June, so it has been operating for 50 days and by then probably well over 2000 people have slept there. After all, according to our tax legislation (that something is on the price list that isn't at the cash desk) it's quite a serious offense. 5. Sleeping behind a rock in a sleeping bag (except in exceptional cases) is forbidden in TNP. You're not calling for breaking regulations, are you? 6. if everyone thought like that, there's no point in having rules at all, because it's self-evident that they get broken. Because in the mountains you enjoy, even if they rip you off left and right. Well, of course I still enjoyed it, but I won't swallow such things.
