@Ziga22:

>>Interesting how Slovenes fear every criticism...

Consequence of now already whole 70 years of "left" upbringing: egalitarianism, god forbid someone has more, someone fights for something, makes life more comfortable,... Brotherhood, unity and someone thinks instead of you!

>>I must praise the hut under Storžičem, lady warden friendly,

Praise from my side too, but two, three years ago there was a male warden. Well I was there twice and it was really OK: food good, warden friendly and dog too mežikanje

>>I have to curse the shack at Predelu,... shitty coffee waited 15 minutes...I went straight to the bar to order there and take to table myself. Waited there ca. 10 minutes more and instead of anything, got growling from the landlady...

You are a very, very patient person though. Probably didn't stay waiting for coffee after all that. zavijanje z očmi

I needed coffee. nasmeh

Anyway pay, take coffee outside, to the end of veranda, sit down, enjoy view to Mangart and surroundings. More worth it than angrily storm off because of one annoying waitress.

I agree with laika and dragon. Rutko at Petrov Brdo is really great. I often ride my bike there for coffee to this hut.

What are your feelings regarding the condition of the hut at kredarica ?. Question addressed to all both summer and winter visitors.
If I start with mine I can write for summer as well as winter just one word disaster and where is the sanitary and tax inspection here.

Peter.B. you and your inspections should first make order in the valley. If something doesn't suit you then eat a sandwich behind the rock. When you start to freeze and need shelter you'll quickly forget the inspections. Lp. Good luck

At Kredarica in winter there is no keeper or staff. Hut is emergently open and weather observers take care of something warm. I'm very grateful to them that they take care of us who sometimes go up even in winter.

True, at least there's shelter and you can order coffee, tea, beer.

Me too, I was happy on Friday evening for hot tea and schnapps, in the morning then for abundant breakfast for the top!
The guys who work up there try hard and have, in my opinion, an excellently arranged hut. But it's up to us what we leave behind. Keep going like that, I always gladly come to the warm shelter of Kredarica!

Above Kredarica I currently have only praise (in summer I even overnighted a couple times, winter just for coffee or radler nasmeh )

They stick to agreed prices and food is good.

@Peter B.: what specifically bothered you at Kredarica?

Hi

To a large extent the condition as it is in huts, in this case at Kredarica, is down to the hiker, mountaineer who goes in there.
Biggest problem is lots of people just ignore etiquette or culture and leave a mess behind. You know the saying only a pig leaves whatever falls from its ass? eek

So without some inspection it should be high hygiene level, but unfortunately more and more individuals who don't give a damn what state they leave the place in.

So don't blame the keepers, for well-being and hygiene we're largely (not) responsible ourselves. zadrega

It's true what some write that hut condition is visitor's responsibility but true is that visitor pays for hut maintenance or cleaning in price of his tea, beer, overnight. As for that hut
matter is quite clear, both summer and winter hut not maintained not cleaned
in short WCs stink shells puked on etc. Entrance door without glass inventory very bad shape. Winter hut cold rooms below zero and god forbid if you want to sleep. Meteorologists friendly try all praise but hut even closed still has keeper who imo doesn't deserve care for such hut. Don't forget dear visitors we are still hut guests and huts must be properly kept even winter since if you like they are our tourism mirror too.

... same without water wc and heated room .... and doesn't pay ....

@Peter B.: In Portorož you already have all that you want (or you're sure that it belongs to you!), from serviced and heated rooms even in winter, to inspections within reach.

But if the hut is closed.. then no keeper either.. Meteorologists aren't up there to heat rooms and clean shit.. (otherwise I agree WCs are awful in the summer season) example of open winter hut is e.g. Komna lodge so go up there and watch them closely..mežikanje

Hey Peter, you want five stars, jacuzzi, all inclusive and breakfast in bed???

Bear in mind that in the mountains the hut is an ordinary SHACK, don't expect any great service and luxury. Just the minimum, which is more than enough for a modest mountaineer!

Yeah, heating.. Best to run an oil pipeline to the top of Triglav, so little Petrček won't shiver in winter, boo hoo.

Already the transport costs for gear and provisions to such a height are enormous, if we wanted to heat the shack too, cleaning after every pig every hour (besides labor it also pulls material costs), not to mention how much extra trash would be generated with such maintenance, we could charge every price x5. Besides, such a hut is already a heavy burden on nature anyway and every such addition can have irreversible consequences for the mountain world.

I'm for leaving the mountain world as untouched as possible, especially if we intrude into it because of our pampered asses.

Oh hey Žigec, why then do you go to mountains and shit behind rocks, leave your pampered ass better at home.
As for costs, don't babble such nonsense. Abroad costs are the same or even higher, conditions much better, it's simply profiteering.

Nobody forces anyone into the hut. Peter, as you wrote in your profile you're off-trail lover - there no huts anyway.mežikanje
