...this isn't the Himalayas, but alongside Triglav our national or mountain symbol! Signposts or those arrows are nowadays almost everywhere, on the least important hills... and can be very useful on such paths, because they lift the information a bit off the ground, and rain doesn't wash them away either...

@velkavrh I remembered, if I'd had a rope with me, I could've made a belay for crossing the snowfield under the notch too. Lucky there was passage under the snowfield, but I'd cross it above anyway if not below, cuz even in the wall you're not sure if the piton will hold, crumbly terrain. From Vršič the path is less crumbly, from Jalovec summit to Kotovo sedlo it's much crumblier, most dangerous if hikers below or above you, so better wait sometimes. On the path to Kotovo sedlo you have to be careful and watch where all the marks are, path goes zigzag all the time and some narrow ledge in wall can mislead you quickly.

I was also on Jalovec today with a friend. Started from Vršič over the Goličica wall to the summit. Views excellent! We descended past the shelter and back to Vršič. Met the aforementioned young people and can only congratulate them. Otherwise, I fully agree with the predecessors who criticized the work of the path markers-maintainers on Jalovec (PD Medvode). The marks have really faded (where they are), so mountaineers helped themselves by building cairns. Part of the path is hard to follow and even I got off the marked path today. Still a nice, what nice, excellent day in the mountains! Best regards

As far as I know, PD Medvode marks and maintains the paths to Jalovec from Tamar via Kotovo sedlo and via the notch to Mali Kot. The Goličica wall, the summit part of Jalovec, and the path to Špička, I think, are someone else's domain. Best regards B

Me and my son also on Thursday on Jalovec from Tamar over Škrbina to the summit and descent to Tamar over Kotovo sedlo. Weather wonderful, quite a few visitors from all directions. Also there "over", on neighbor Mangart plenty of visitors. Maybe just this: at entrance to climbing section towards Škrbina, awkward detail with steep slope and ice axe very useful (visible from predecessor's pics). P.S.: We diligently carried camera in backpack, because morning before hut in Tamar, when we wanted to photo scarlet-clad beauty realized no card in camera, hi,hi. At summit visitor from Primorska "pitied" us and confirmed "the thing". Good luck!

Today route from Vršič towards Mali Kot and over Jalovec škrbina ascent to Jalovec, then descent to Špička and back to Vršič. No peculiarities on path. Maybe missed extra peg or cable, but that's Jalovec charm - as few artificial aids in nature. Well to top it off met two in worst flip-flops (sandals), climbing from Špička to Jalovec. Crazy.

Yesterday Saturday, after a night spent in Tamar eight of us hikers set off to Jalovec via Kotovo sedlo to summit then descent to shelter under Špička and via Vršič and Sleme back to Tamar. Long and strenuous tour. At summit, at Špička and Vršič bit longer stops, whole path took 14 hours. No regret tired legs, rewarded with wonderful views and picturesque path Jalovec really fits name king of mountains. Safe step all wish "Celje hikers"

We started from Tamar in the morning, climbed over Kotovo sedlo to the bivouac and on to Jalovec. We descended towards Špička into the valley. The path was very varied, interesting and quite demanding. I'm glad we (we were four) made it. With breaks we slogged good 12 hours Weather was super, impressions divine

My D-day on Jalovec. Still reliving yesterday. In the team I was with mukica, alesh74 and Tonet, who got me safely over the wall. Thanks also to parkeljc, who immortalized us on top. One remark... at certain spots some pegs were missing for ones like me Divine day, incredible experience... proud I conquered it (Jalovec).
