Today, as written above, we were on Jalovec. At 4:00 AM -10°C wakes us at the parking lot, so we step a bit faster, past the hut in Tamar we stepped less than 40 minutes later. Higher under Ozeznik, the reflection of a headlamp was already visible, slowly advancing towards the entry. When we step out of the forest, snow surprises us, which we personally didn't want: combination of icy slabs, wind-blown snow, crusty snow,... etc., mostly snow that sank up to the knees. We encounter this all the way to the top.
Up to the entry into Ozeznik we follow the footsteps of the predecessor, to whom we are very grateful, from the entry onwards we blaze the trail ourselves. Here strong wind joins the cold, further lowering the temperature. We can thank the wind also for the drifted trail. Upon exiting Ozeznik, the sun shines on us for the first time and the mood improves even more as truly beautiful and clear views open before us. The winter approach through the chimney is really not suitable yet, no snow even for a sample, so we renew the trail on the summer path area. Here let me mention a slightly more difficult section (at the fixed cables, which are currently sticking out), which was iced with a thin layer of ice. The approach along the ridge is really one of the nicer ones, the trail itself is nicely laid out with only one slightly harder traverse.
At the top we were rewarded with views far around. Surprisingly, it was less windy at the top than below and we could enjoy a bit longer. In short, to use Jure's statement: Superlatives in all respects. Jalovec is really one and only! Time-wise: 6 hours to the top from in front of the Planinska Velikanka (with all breaks and enjoyments), descent 3.5 hours.
