This time to Jalovec from Loška Koritnica, route Čez Brežice saddle, below via hunter's passage "čez štenge", then along the mountain path, in the basin below saddle Čez Brežice turn left to the little saddle, then descent via gully to Loški žleb and traverse of extensive scree fields on the western side of Jalovec, short climb through the crumbly gully and joining the path Kotovo sedlo - Jalovec, to the summit just a walk. Descent to Špička (open from 2.7), short chat and ascent to Škrbina behind Grad, then descent to saddle Brežice (careful, scree on slabs) and to the head of Loška Koritnica. Beautiful, what beautiful, wonderful tour.

Kotovo sedlo dry, Škrbina left of glacier, ice axe-crampons necessary, glacier close.

Hi
I know you need an ice axe, but do you need crampons 100%, or can you get there without them too?

On the approach from Tamar and then from Kotovo Sedlo we (I was alone but caught up at the saddle and joined three younger hikers) saw your group (stankoju) in the fog leaving the summit, which really had no view. We weren't in a hurry and waited almost an hour. It was worth it, it cleared up and views stretched far and wide. We returned to the saddle the same way, fixed gear ok, but need to be more careful due to gravel on ledges, especially where there is no protection. Lower under the saddle, at the junction, I decided to descend right via scree. Marks were lost and it went somehow, at the start I kept more to the left, then mainly looked for easier passages. It goes fast really, but it's a looong scree field and requires quite some leg endurance. Then through the forest it's a more comfortable pace. The wind didn't let up in the afternoon either, gusts were still so strong at the hut that I instantly got the bowl and drink in my lap. Yeah, when I wanted to relax a bit with a view of Jalovec. But since I still had to go to the Planica giant, I dried off. It was a nice day.

Today from Planica to Jalovec. Up past Kotovo sedlo, down past Škrbina. Protections and path OK. Last snow patch at exit from Škrbina full of stones and nicely passable. Enjoy Andrej

Over the weekend I was on Jalovec for the first time. Wonderful tour, on Saturday afternoon we walked from Vršič to the Shelter below Špička, where we spent the night. In the evening my brother and I climbed Špiček too (very crumbly, one II spot), which unlike the shelter was still beautifully lit by the sun. Next morning to the summit, path well secured, but need to grab the rock too. On Jezero we saw glory for the first time in our lives, with all four family members in its center. Unforgettable. Above the first cables gentians are still blooming. Descended the ascent route. Would also warn about the probably wrong approximate tour time on this website... At Vršič it's marked 5 hours to Jalovec summit and that will probably be the real time.

On Saturday my colleague and I reached the top of Jalovec for the first time. Circular from Tamar. Very nice path, only more markings from Tamar to the saddle really wouldn't hurt, and faded markings could be renewed. Luckily we had a very cool girl ahead who was almost our guide hehe (if reading -> hi ). Definitely will climb Jalovec again sometime

@neph and hribuc85, thanks for the explanation, I really haven't seen anything like that yet.
