This time to Jalovec from Loška Koritnica, route Čez Brežice saddle, below via hunter's passage "čez štenge", then along the mountain path, in the basin below saddle Čez Brežice turn left to the little saddle, then descent via gully to Loški žleb and traverse of extensive scree fields on the western side of Jalovec, short climb through the crumbly gully and joining the path Kotovo sedlo - Jalovec, to the summit just a walk. Descent to Špička (open from 2.7), short chat and ascent to Škrbina behind Grad, then descent to saddle Brežice (careful, scree on slabs) and to the head of Loška Koritnica. Beautiful, what beautiful, wonderful tour.
At the end of Loški žleb there is still several meters of snow1

Nice greetings to all. Excuse my poor Slovenian; I would like to know current conditions from Tamar, is it dry????

Kotovo sedlo dry, Škrbina left of glacier, ice axe-crampons necessary, glacier close.

Hi

I know you need an ice axe, but do you need crampons 100%, or can you get there without them too?

Yesterday on Jalovec from Vršič via Goličica to the summit, descent towards shelter under Špička and further to valley to hut at Soča source and further to Trenta. Path normally passable, fixed gear in good condition. Fog covered views, which lingered around peaks yesterday morning, strong wind on top so we quickly descended to Špička shelter for warm strudel.

On the approach from Tamar and then from Kotovo Sedlo we (I was alone but caught up at the saddle and joined three younger hikers) saw your group (stankoju) in the fog leaving the summit, which really had no view. We weren't in a hurry and waited almost an hour. It was worth it, it cleared up and views stretched far and wide.
We returned to the saddle the same way, fixed gear ok, but need to be more careful due to gravel on ledges, especially where there is no protection. Lower under the saddle, at the junction, I decided to descend right via scree. Marks were lost and it went somehow, at the start I kept more to the left, then mainly looked for easier passages. It goes fast really, but it's a looong scree field and requires quite some leg endurance. Then through the forest it's a more comfortable pace. The wind didn't let up in the afternoon either, gusts were still so strong at the hut that I instantly got the bowl and drink in my lap. Yeah, when I wanted to relax a bit with a view of Jalovec. But since I still had to go to the Planica giant, I dried off. It was a nice day.

Yesterday at the wish of the better half we went from Trenta over the Goličica wall to the summit and descended past the shelter under Špička back to the valley. One step closer to finishing SPPnasmeh.
Otherwise we enjoyed nice weather and great views.

Today from Planica to Jalovec. Up past Kotovo sedlo, down past Škrbina. Protections and path OK. Last snow patch at exit from Škrbina full of stones and nicely passable.

Enjoy

Over the weekend I was on Jalovec for the first time. Wonderful tour, on Saturday afternoon we walked from Vršič to the Shelter below Špička, where we spent the night. In the evening my brother and I climbed Špiček too (very crumbly, one II spot), which unlike the shelter was still beautifully lit by the sun. Next morning to the summit, path well secured, but need to grab the rock too. On Jezero we saw glory for the first time in our lives, with all four family members in its center. Unforgettable. Above the first cables gentians are still blooming. Descended the ascent route.

Would also warn about the probably wrong approximate tour time on this website... At Vršič it's marked 5 hours to Jalovec summit and that will probably be the real time.

I have to admit that I too, until recently, didn't know about this phenomenon or at least its name:

SunBurned, you can read more about glory if you click this link

http://www.hribi.net/trenutnerazmere.asp?slo=1&gorovjeid=10001&id=4651&stran=1

, on hribi.net there was recently a debate about this atmospheric optical phenomenon. So it's an atmospheric optical phenomenon, like the rainbow, halo etc..

Hope I clarified the matter.

On Saturday my colleague and I reached the top of Jalovec for the first time. Circular from Tamar. Very nice path, only more markings from Tamar to the saddle really wouldn't hurt, and faded markings could be renewed. Luckily we had a very cool girl ahead who was almost our guide hehe (if reading -> hi mežikanjenasmeh).
Definitely will climb Jalovec again sometime nasmeh

Today I was on the "king of mountains"velik nasmeh. Started from in front of the Planica giant jump. Then to Dom v Tamarju (path there passes quite fast) and over Kotovo sedlo to the top. On the summit already some visitors ahead of me (mostly from the Primorska side), some wind and not the warmest (yes, autumn is coming soon), but still enough for us all to enjoy the nice Saturday morning (for a minute I was even alone on top hehevelik nasmeh). View was perfect on my arrival, I think I even saw Antela and Pelmo in the Dolomites. Quite quickly I said goodbye and descended back to Kotovo sedlo, "rode"velik nasmeh down the scree back to Tamar and then to Planica. Took 7 hours total. Best!nasmeh
