Jalovec

Let me brag a bit too. Last Saturday on Prisank, today again to Vršič and first time on Jalovec. Return over the shelter below Špička. Despite early start, the sun was scorching hot on return. Took 7 hours for the whole path, won't comment on difficulty since I was in high mountains anyway!
And a couple pics.

Today we two also went to Jalovec for the first time, namely from Vršič over Jalovec notch, we descended past the shelter under Špička. There were quite a lot of people, weather on top nicely warm (almost hot), for descent already really boiling, which totally exhausted especially me. But nice ascent, at least climbing part to glacier, no living soul and nice to climb nasmeh. On Vršič sheep were coolingvelik nasmeh

If anyone goes to Jalovc from Tamar, leave the car in Planica, because further it is not allowed and rangers walk handing out penalty tickets gol popat !!
Watch out at the big jump in Planica STOP !!!!mrk pogledjezen

Only sensible, as you have to follow TNP rules (legislation) and of course signs! Would you drive straight to Jalovec by car?

To be honest, the walk from Planica to Tamar really poses no problems...in the morning nasmeh (and you warm up nicely if going over scree hehe).
Other thing is return when fatigue shows and path from Tamar hut to ski jumps drags terribly...but whaddya gonna do, that's how it is. If it's hard for someone let them take another path or none - no use whining.
But if I kinda get whining about path from Planica to Tamar lasting good half hour; don't get whining about parking in Zadnjica...if park right at start it's just 5-10 min to barrier zavijanje z očmi

On Friday I went to Kanjavec from Zadnjica. Parked at valley entrance, 10 min to ramp, yet about 15 cars at ramp despite that, mostly our plates.

Yesterday first time summited Jalovec. Definitely my toughest, most dangerous but by far nicest tour so far.
Started at 6 from Vršič towards Vel. Ozebnik (skipped hut uphill). Access path/traverse nicely cool and great views over Trenta from start. But exposed in places, careful in rain or if dark catches on descent. At 7:30 out of forest starting ascent to hut/wall already full sun baking. Ascent almost unmarked but path easy to follow.
To first wall in 3h. Poles useful in first wall part, fold just before first chain. First part Vel. Ozebnik well cabled. Who has self-belay kit, bring it. Very exposed some places. Few pegs bit "loose". Second wall part not for faint-hearted and insecure. Extremely friable ground, practically no protections, followability poor sometimes. Luckily exposure milder than first part. Not every slip fatal anymore.
Similar but steeper again in Jalovec wall. Plus extreme risk of rocks on head as all in one chute straight up. Was one of few without helmet. High time to sort that.
Ridge exposure real story. Extra was strong wind so good part of ridge on all fours. Not elegant but practical :D Path following around ridge poor - too few marks!
Summit in 4h50. Wanted to stay hours up but scared of stronger wind, finished after 1h. Given afternoon wind down at hut think right decision.
Good people still: Radler at Vršič free this time as fun all-winds trio treated me, we shortened time part way to Vršič. Then gladly drove them to Planica where car.
My estimate Vršič-Jalovec (access+wall/s) physically like Škrlatica but more dangerous, technically demanding, bit crumblier. Only plus comfy stay/retreat to Shelter under Špičak.

Forgot one interesting bit in previous post. On descent from top (again) met that girl Pia doing SPP in 30 days. Really nice that after two+ weeks still looks "like a rose", and about experienced so far besides troubles lots nice to tell. Clearly doing it "for her soul" and enjoying.

Interesting contrast to recent record guy who rushed so much half invalid to finish and there solemnly sighed "Never again.". Wtf?

Yesterday on Jalovec. Start Flori in Zapodnu - Hunter's hut - Mali kot - Goličica - Jezerca - summit and down to Špička, then to the valley. On the ridge it really pulled a bit, but nothing special, it has been much windier many times before. Otherwise trail without peculiarities, still beautiful as always, all protections flawless, view not like in winter but still nicenasmeh.

Jalovec !! This is the mountain that always invites me. Every time I visit it, it fascinates me again and again..Some call it simply "King of Slovenian mountains"..Last week I also went with six young lads to this beautiful mountain..From Tamar we went in the morning at seven o'clock. The path was nice..We went towards Jalovski Ozebnik. A bit before Ozebnik we turned left and headed along the climbing path to the saddle..The path is very well secured. From the saddle we descended slightly down and joined the mountain trail which comes from Podšpička. We continued towards Jalovec summit. We also looked at the entrance to Jalovski Ozebnik. At Jalovec summit there was a very nice view..We descended to Kotovo sedlo and past the bivouac back to the hut in Tamar..or rather to Planica, where we had the cars parked..

Our group will soon set off towards Jalovec...2

Yesterday, after several years, back on Jalovec. Interesting how many details from the trail are forgotten, but the fact that this mountain must be taken seriously you never forget. We started from Vršič to the shelter under Špička and after a short stop continued to the summit. The sun was shining from a clear sky, a mountain breeze was blowing, few people, views so clear as rarely experienced. Chamois were visible and a flock of ptarmigans, which are still more brown now.
And when you finally drag yourself somewhat tired and sunburnt to Vršič, nevertheless you think the day was excellent.

Hello
Is the path to Jalovec more exposed than the Slovenian path to Mangart?

Is it much harder than the Slovenian one on Mangart? Because there it went without problem, now we would go to Jalovec over Jalovško škrbino and down past the shelter under Špička??
thanks

What about comparison of path to Skuta from Kamniško sedlo and path to Jalovec past shelter? Thanks for help.
