Settling can be a problem, yesterday on Špik it was quite significant, Nataša said up to the ass occasionally. Could also be dangerous due to snow avalanches, thaw, new snow.

Hi, Igor! Some pictures with comments, if not all, you could put on the portal. Špik and its surroundings are always interesting to see. Especially now with huge amount of snow. Regards, Jovan

Where will you stick the ice axe if the snow is rotten and avalanches are heard in the valleys, end of the week new precipitation, cooling, so it won't be safe for a while, as birds on twigs are already chirping. If there are no conditions there are none, life is only one. But you know that the snow must transform in the mountains, freeze, and only then will it be good to walk on it. Why not go to Špik, it's a better choice and even "safer", only that it sinks quite a bit. You're going along the summer path, the couloir isn't formed, it's a jump and suitable only mid-winter with more snow.

redbull, I was heading to Mangrt on Sunday myself, but didn't even reach the saddle. You will have to wait patiently like most until the snow clears good luck

Yeah, it depends a bit when you went, if you start in the sun, really harder.

What do you think, when will conditions be OK for Jalovec from Tamar via glacier? I mean descent on skis back down the ridge? Thanks for any info. Lp!

Those better ones have long passed, otherwise as soon as the weather improves

Someone didn't think like you and it ended tragically.

Maybe a stone flew from the walls of the couloir or fatal lightning during a thunderstorm, sad.

A source wouldn't be amiss, and don't speculate, because many things could be to blame for the accident.

Exactly what viharnik mentioned is what I always fear the most myself. When the snow melts in these months, all sorts fall from the walls, in larger or smaller form... Sad news

Just because of such "unburdened" ones, sometimes they also take one like that. The mountains can't be tricked, they set the rules.

KRANJSKA GORA – On Saturday under Veliki Ozeznik (2480 m above sea level), an accident happened in which a 31-year-old snowboarder died, according to unofficial data ... from the Šoštanj area. From reliable sources we learned that he went to the mountains with his wife, then their paths separated. Since at 10 a.m. he no longer answered the phone, a call for help followed. 13 mountain rescuers from Rateče went to the terrain, and a military helicopter crew with experienced flight doctor Dr. Iztok Tomazin (GRS Tržič) also intervened. The search was strongly hampered by the weather, but amid thunderstorms, which besides fog and wind clung to Jalovec and neighboring heights, they fortunately found suitable moments and flew over the mountains at 13:30. Related contents Hiker died on Jalovec mountain This year in the hills five climbers lost their lives The team in the helicopter first surveyed the Jalovčev Ozeznik area, then flew over Vršič and the south slope of Mojstrovka and determined that the unfortunate man most likely snowboarded from Veliki Ozeznik, which among alpine skiers is considered a very demanding feat. The survey of this area confirmed the suspicion. The helicopter dropped flight doctor Tomazin and flight rescuer Jure Jeršin (GRS Rateče) about 200 meters below the top of the steep gully, where the 31-year-old had stalled. "This ridge is an avalanche entryway, so the action was very dangerous for the rescuers," emphasized one of the experienced Rateče mountain rescuers. "The doctor at the scene determined death. Mountain rescuers moved the body with the help of rope technique to the place where they could lift it into the helicopter. They transported him to the valley and handed him over to the funeral service. The police are investigating the causes of the accident," the notification center wrote about the mountain accident, which was followed by demanding rescue work. According to the Mountain Rescue Association of Slovenia, this year in the hills five climbers lost their lives. In the entire last year, when mountain rescuers recorded a record 413 interventions, Slovenian hills took 15 lives. Source: Slovenske novice

All well and good, but you could have omitted the name of the accident victim if SN didn't.
