Yes, the terrain around the big Ozebnik is exposed. Most likely some slab or small slide is to blame for the snowboarder's loss of balance.

My goal today was the top of Jalovec and then descent on skis through the ozebnik. But I only reached the top of the ozebnik where due to thick fog I had to turn around (there was also quite some fresh snow and continuing to the top would have been very tough...). But skiing through the ozebnik didn't happen in the end either.mrk pogled After two test turns I decided to go down on footzmedenzadrega. To me personally the conditions for skiing the ozebnik didn't seem safe enough (everything was "sliding", even with crampons and ice axe it was pretty hard going down...). The fresh snow obviously worsened everything greatly, as there was quite a lot of it in places on the hard base below.jezenzavijanje z očmi. Skiing lower down from the ozebnik, however, was in different conditions and very solid.nasmeh Maybe someone did ski the ozebnik after all and can correct me or share their opinion on the conditions?zadrega Regards!

There is still some annoying snow on the path2

From here onwards I proceeded on skis, in the lower section there are still many twigs, rocks, etc.4

You can see quite some water too :)15
Really interesting, then when I'm in the valley, it's like this... :)))16

Hi,

has anyone been around here in the last few days? Maybe there's still some snow left from the ozebnik downward? Could one still do some skiing?

Regards

View from Tamar already predicted no views from summit today, just plain sky. But it didn't bother me. Plan was path through glacier and then marked to summit, return to Kotovo sedlo.
Snow through glacier nicely compact, winter conditions. Occasionally climbers scramble from wall. At glacier exit different story. Snow sinks to knees all the way to summit.
On ridge blowing hard, fog cleared occasionally but not for long. At summit I sit till I run out of bread and sausage.
Due to fog return the way I came. Nice tour despite fog.

Started in morning cool at Flori in Zapodno. Birdsong accompanied as I slowly climbed through green beech forest. At TNP hut stopped, always stop here for Jalovec. Then towards Mali Kot, admired first mountain flowers along path and after long snowfields under south wall of Goličica, one of nicest here. Transition snow to rocks annoying and will be worse, maybe impassable, bergschrund huge this year. Easy scramble to summit snows, crampons on, ice axe in hand, that hiking one that accompanies me for years on winter climbs, we've become sort of friends and allies helping each other. Summit nice view but not like yesterday Triglav. Sit at cairn, descend to Jezerca and on under Veliki Ozebnik to Špička. To valley good hour more.

Hi,

both of us are interested in conditions over Kotovo sedlo to Jalovec. Thanks and best regards.

At this time you need to carry crampons and ice axe on such tours, and of course certain experience. Tomorrow there will be new snow everywhere above 2000 m again, so such questions are completely out of place. Monitor the weather a bit, it also belongs to tour preparation.

..we also follow the weather ..without following the weather, it doesn't go anyway in preparing for the tour. ..

Yesterday 23.6.2013 I went through Jalovec glacier to Jalovec. In the glacier crampons and ice axe are recommended, there's a huge amount of snow and it's firm. On the south side there's also still enough snow up to the entry for ascent to Jalovec. To the top it's bare then I went over Kotovo sedlo back to Tamar in places there's still enough snow that you have to cross.

The view on Jalovec is beautiful,
if it doesn't captivate you you must really be blind
or not born for the mountain world.

Picture 26 by user @Yulius Kugy: this applies when there's no more snow or already now, because of falling rocks.

There are no closed paths; you can go even when it's bare, just higher risk to get some bigger piece. Applies more in summer; yesterday when we two were there, there wasn't even a small pebble that you'd hear anywhere around there.

Why does it then say it's closed? ..if on the sign (besides that also official) it says it's closed, then it's logical that it is closed ..(p.d or pzs doesn't maintain the path) Of course it's the individual's matter whether they set off and when they set off through the ozebnik - and of course they themselves take responsibility for the danger.
