For some time, Jalovec from Tamar has been nagging me. After collecting info from predecessors, I decided for ascent over Jalovska škrbina and descent over Kotovo sedlo. Since two companions changed their minds at the last moment due to forecasted heat on 22.7, we two alone went to the foot of Planinske skakalnice. We slept in Tamar and on 23.7 at 5 a.m. already cheerfully heading towards Jalovec. The morning was cloudless, but what the afternoon would bring was another story. If you ignore the annoying scree, the path to the entrance into the škrbina went fine, and we were in the shade. On the Trenta side, it was another story, hot as an oven. But after a bit more than 4 hours, we staggered to the summit. The path is very poorly marked but trodden, pitons so many that you have to dodge them. On the summit, dark clouds started to gather, so we quickly drank something and went. On the summit, I picked a souvenir for the dear person who just can't manage to get to Jalovec, and we hurried towards Kotovo sedlo, where the first drops greeted us and at the end the scree washed us well. For the path, we needed less than 7 hours.

Good morning! This year's summer is quite moody, so you have to chase the free days available to you when the weather is reasonably pleasant. Since I haven't been to Jalovec for five years, my colleague and I decided yesterday to do the tour from Tamar to Jalovska škrbina to Kotovo sedlo down. But the opposite happened to us. Dense fog blocked us, so before Jalovska škrbina we couldn't see five meters and almost turned right by mistake towards Kotovo sedlo right before the notch. I really went this way five years ago, but I forgot the path details. This scree is really extremely nasty-tiring. You cross it sometimes a bit your own way. At Kotovo sedlo the sky opened - beautiful views and sheep up there like five years ago. Then nice secured path to the top. From the top we headed for descent to Trenta side. Before Goličica at scree the path branches to Jalovska škrbina. Very soon you have to descend the rocks and here is the key part of the path. Descent secured only with pegs, endless. When down we can sigh with relief. Further the path is secured with cables to the entrance to the škrbina. Despite the complication and reversed order of the planned route, the tour went without issues. It is really beautiful. Offers true mountain pleasures - free and secured climbing, great views... On return we ate excellent mushroom soup with chanterelles in Tamar hut - exceptionally tasty and of course obligatory stop in Dovje at Aljaž for black beer.
In the head of Tamarja - mists rush here and there.1
2
We saw only two wasps here on the entire path.3
Here we are, now up the scree - desperately long, strenuous.4
Such dense fog descends that we can hardly see each other a few meters ahead and before the notch we turn right - mistake - heading towards Kotovo sedlo.5
The path is marked.6
At Kotovo sedlo the sky opens up and reveals wonderful peaks to us.7
Before the ascent to Jalovec.8
The sheep are here just like five years ago.9
The ascent starts immediately - first some easy scrambling.10
Then quite a few steel cables.11
And pegs are plentiful too.12

Down to the Trentarska side.14
One can see far into these beautiful alpine valleys.15
On the path.16
17
At the path junction then to Jalovška škrbina. The path is secured at the start only with pegs, further on with cables to the entrance into the notch.18

I don't recommend from Zadnja Trenta in this heat, because you walk on southern sides all day. Better from Loška koritnica. Longer, some descent, lots of climbing, returns over Kotovo sedlo. If you decide for this path from Loška koritnica on Saturday you can count on me. @curiosity2015 we met on Triglav in winter.

It was Wednesday, a rainy morning when my colleague and I started from Planica towards Jalovec, over Jalovška škrbina. For me it was the second ascent to our king of the mountains, for my colleague the first. The path was interesting, without any special features,... only scree is scree, right?nasmeh. We descended over Kotovo sedlo, stopped at the bivouac, where it was really cheerful, as we rested quite a while and enjoyed the views. Beautiful day spent in good company of our beautiful Jalovec.mežikanje

On Thursday to the King of the Mountains. From Trenta via Špička to the top and descent the same way. Lower part nicely in shade, then to Špička already quite a strong sun. Fixed protections to below Veliki ozebnik flawless, here and there you have to look more for the marked route. Last part a dose of adrenaline, as befits the king. On the top nice view and not too crowded. Descent along the ridge and from the ridge requires maximum caution (rocks, scree). At Špička earned Radler and back to the valley.

End of August planning a trip from Loška Koritnica - V Koncu (junction) - Jalovec (junction) - Kotovo sedlo. Since it is a transit trekking tour, I will have approx. 20kg gear with me. Interested in the current condition of the described path.
Thanks in advance velik

Flori - TNP hut - Mali Kot - Goličica Jezerca - summit - Descent Jezerca - over V. Ozebnik - shelter under Špička - Flori.
Praise that markings in Jalovška škrbina area are renewed, over Goličica wall all bolts in place, continuation also without features. Descent path well traceable, carefully where scree on path, fixed protections reliable and in place where needed.
