@IgorZlodej Yes, most of the day great weather, around 14h clouds started covering the summit. When I looked back from Ozebnik, I was quite glad I turned back.

Yesterday there were quite a few ski tourers in Ozebnik and probably on Jalovec, and one hiker. Snow was to the end of the forest hard and wind-packed, further covered with new snow, a few cm at the forest edge, higher maybe 20 or 30 cm.

In the narrow under Šite mostly crusty, but ski ascent no problem. Similar in Ozebnik, most on skis, last steep on foot no excessive sinking, while hiker sank esp. in lower part, once or twice deep over waist. On descent met one ski tourer who skied whole Ozebnik (steep part too).

Winter chimney practically snow-free. Four or five left skis on ridge above Jezerci and continued to Jalovec top, also four German speakers who got stuck in lower traverse and returned.

Skiing down mainly mix of crust and blown snow, but ok to ride. From narrow under Šite down, skiing modest 20 cm powder on hard base pure joy. Easily to parking at Planica ramp.

Sky cloudless, fantastic.
In Tamar, smoke was friendly rising from the house chimney.1
New snow starts above the tree line.2
Traces of the southern snow avalanche are visible, covered with new snow blanket.3
Tamar, still in the shade for now.4
Prominent rock at the entrance to the ozebnik.5

The hiker had no easy time despite the touring tracks.7
The slightly fatigued marker persistently shows the entrance to the ozebnik.8

German-speaking hikers got stuck on the traverse and turned back, about four or five went to the top.13
For me the most beautiful: Veliki Ozebnik with a backdrop befitting its beauty.14

The older gentleman traversed the entire ozebnik on skis.16
I return to Tamar early in the afternoon.17

Yesterday on top of Jalovec.
Start at 4am from Planica. Path to Tamar at that hour icy. But possible without crampons at spots. Further on scree and to Ozebnik slight sinking. In narrowest part steps well made no big issues. To Jalovec summit direct through chimney. Still very little ice left, but super hard stable. Ice axe in one hand, other hand on rocks. Then over roof to top. Windy on top but just right as it was already hot at 9am. Back normal variant. Melting so some trouble descending esp steepest part. Melting so fast gave up idea of big Ozebnik cuz no way trampling + dangerous at thaw. Quick descent to Tamar. Snow very soft. In narrowest rocks falling at 10am like conveyor belt. Coffee in Tamar at 10:30.
Great day otherwise but recommend very very early start! Can't imagine narrow after 12. Assume DANGEROUS! If again would go 1-2h earlier for sure.

From Planica on foot along the road to the hut in Tamar, then onwards with skis on our feet. Snow was frozen, with altitude it became softer.
Up to below the north face we were on skis, then crampons and towards the summit. Cveto persisted on skis far into the north face.
Yesterday some new snow fell which completely covered the base.
To the summit we went via the summer path, because the winter one is bare below. Conditions were good despite warm weather.
Skiing through the north face pure pleasure, lower a bit worse due to soft snow, in the lower part again nicely groomed snow and quickly we were at the deserved beer in Tamar.
To Planica we then used all patches of snow, ice, water, leaves and gravel.
First series of jumps we watched in Planica, second while analyzing the beautiful day at Danica's in Dovje.

On Wednesday 29 March, I slowly set off into a new day. For most it will be just another ordinary working Wednesday, but I hope for another wonderful day and good ski touring. The goal I set is quite demanding and will require effort from me, above all a lot of caution.

The entire tour is presented on the link, in words and pictures...29 photos

Steep above me rises the wall. From deep abyss to high heavens. I can't hide the flame of desire that I couldn't climb across. This poem was written to me today by hutkeeper Fux, as they call him at Špička. Yesterday afternoon I went up. As the first to overnight at Špička, because he opened the hut one day earlier. Friendly hutkeeper. In the morning I went to the summit of Jalovec. Overnight the summit whitened. One snow patch still before entering the wall. Didn't need winter gear.

8.7.2017 - Planica-Kotovo sedlo-Jalovec and back. In between also a trip to the waterfall in Loška Koritnica. velik nasmeh

The path is normally passable. A bit below the summit, you need to cross some snow (ca. 10 steps) but no problems. The cables were also renewed not long ago.

The cables on the path to/from Loška Koritnica towards Kotovo sedlo are in poorer condition, but the path is still normally passable.

On Saturday, 15.7. conditions on Jalovec were excellent in the early morning hours. Later (after 10 o'clock) it clouded over (the summit was perhaps still in the sun).

Could someone help me name the peaks on the 8th picture? Especially those between Škrlatica and Triglav.. Razor, Prisank, ..? Thanks!

The path over Jalovška škrbina still requires an ice axe. At the end of the secured path in the glacier's side gully you must cross hard, compact snow which will stay a long, long time. A slip means a painful end in one of the deep terminal pits, or worse.

We two also decided yesterday on another visit to Jalovec, this time from the Kotovo sedlo side.
The views towards Jalovec from the path to Kotovo sedlo are really something special.
At the top we considered descending to Jalovška škrbina, but were warned that there's still quite a bit of packed snow in the notch and an ice axe is necessary at least, which we didn't have. A friendly female hiker suggested we return together to the hut below Špičkom and then to Vršič, and drive us from there to our start in Planica. Of course we gratefully accepted the offer and thank Alenka again for the nice company and ride.
Cloudless day. Insanely beautiful!

Today Sebo and I roamed above Tamar. We went to Jalovec via Kotovo sedlo, stopping by the bivouac on the way, which was however empty. We waited for sunrise and then set off for the summit. It was blowing hard on the saddle ridge, which didn't let up even to the top. Otherwise the weather was quite suitable for hiking, a bit of sun, a bit of mist, ... We diligently headed down, already meeting the first hiker, who would descend via the notch, then a few more hikers, so the summit was quite besieged today, and don't forget we also chatted with Mukica and down to the valley.

Today on Jalovec - ascent from Trenta via Jalovška škrbina and Goličica, descent along the slope of Veliki Ozebnik past Zavetišče pod Špičkom. Weather without a cloud, just really quite hot, so for the next days I recommend starting the hike still in the dark.

On Sunday, 13.8. we ascended from home in Tamar (where we arrived Saturday evening from Planica) over Kotovo sedlo to this mighty and unique mountain. Weather was ideal, views fantastic, kitschily beautiful. Descent to Hut under Špičko where we slept, and next morning down to Vršič-Slemenova špica-Črne vode-Tamar-Planica. Need to warn that descent from Jalovec to Špičko is really poorly marked, follow ascent markers, downhill they are pale and poorly visible. In fog it can be really dangerous and you can miss the path quickly. Otherwise my many years old wish came true-to experience, reach the mountain considered image of ideal, royal mountain.
The path is nicely secured, newly, and offers really fantastic views to the Italian side.1
It really has sharply cut walls. They say it resembles a crystal.2

Every story ends oncenasmeh and so our desetlenik ended his SPPjezik.
On Monday we in mostly cloudy but ideal hiking weather went from Zadnja Trenta to Hut under Špičko, where we slept on overcrowded common bunks. Though the hut is really small, the warden and his helper really take good care of all hikers.
