I was again at Kamnik Saddle, and further to Brana. Didn't go to the top, have to cross still quite some snowfields. At 7am at the hut just over 3 degrees above zero, and windy too. Tomorrow there'll be a party at the saddle for hikers' day. Quite a few hikers from Austria in the hut. Also spotted chamois a bit above the saddle, they still have winter gear.

Stepped uphill with fresh legs,
quickly the sound of Bistrica faded.
Soon the clouds glowed,
peaks behind painted by sun rays.
At the hut the flag's waving greets me
and of course real mountain flowers.
Nice to view this mountain world
and sit a bit among the flowers.
Lately more and more friends I have,
so today I meet our @ciklamo. nasmehmežikanje

Today my brother Žan and I went again by ourselves to Kamnik Saddle. The day was nice, because due to occasional wind it wasn't too hot in the scree.cool For a while a friendly pup followed us, but then headed to its owner. At the top there were choughs, at Kamnica gentians and some bilberries. When we got to the spring of Kamniška Bistrica we stayed there longer as always.velik nasmehnasmehjezikmežikanjecool

Yesterday in pleasant company to the saddle. A bit of wind at the top, but that didn't stop the younger two from summer snowballingjezik. At the end they checked the warmtheek of the water at the Kamniška Bistrica spring.

On Saturday at Kamnik Saddle, a three-generation hike from the direction of Logarska Valley. The full parking lot under the waterfall indicated quite a few visitors, which proved to be true. The path is wonderful. Before entering the wall, it is recommended to put on a helmet, as stones fly from above now and then. We wanted to extend the trip to Brana, but it was shyly veiled in mists, so we saved it for next time.

After a long and tiring work week, I decided today to relax a bit and differently, namely by heading to the mountains. Quite a few people, the weather was wonderful and the views too, though then it started to fog up, but by then I had already headed to the valley. nasmeh First time at Kamnik Saddle. nasmeh

Hello,

does anyone know if the hut at the saddle will be open this weekend?

Also, I would like to ask about the conditions on the path from Kam.Bistrica to the saddle. There is probably already quite a bit of snow, but I'm not sure if winter gear is also needed. Thanks in advance. nasmeh

From Okrešelj you can get up but I would advise at least crampons because where the pegs and cables start it's frozen and in some places ice too. My buddy and I turned back today because going back down is even harder on the ice. We were heading to Brana.

I was already a bit fed up with this weather, but despite it being nicer in the valley today, I decided to go to Kamnik Saddle. If it had been even a bit nicer, I would have extended to Brana.

Todi, I'm curious: did you drive to Jermanca? The pictures make me think that. If you did, it means the road was well passable or more like so-so?... lp nasmeh
