Please help. Does anyone know if it's allowed to drive by car to Jermanca. If not, where can one park and how much longer does the path to Kamnik Saddle become? Thanks in advance

I thought that sign was only in winter (so that no one gets stuck on the unplowed road and then sues the road company  , but it seems to stay, well 3 weeks ago it was still there. However, no one pays attention to it, since the cable car station at Kokrško sedlo is always full of cars, I assume it's the same at Jermanca.
Of course, the question always hangs in the air when the municipal inspectors might remember to start enforcing the sign...

The ban is still there. As far as I'm concerned, they should write fines with one more zero. 80e is way too little. I've said this many times, if you go to nature, go to nature, don't fool around everywhere possible and destroy what's left of nature. No excuse for those idiots with cars who push and push. If you don't have time, choose a goal that suits your time, if you don't have fitness for the whole trail, choose another more suitable for yourself. If you like driving, there are plenty of roads. Seriously, if I had a say, fines would be in thousands and order and nature would be restored..

Branee: you're really harsh. Maybe too much. If a starting point exists, I really don't see a reason not to drive up to the higher starting point by car. Even if you have to pay parking or toll for the mountain road, so what. Everyone decides for themselves what to do. This sign has definitely been stirring spirits for years. If the sign is posted, then let it be properly turned so there's no dilemma. All other guessing is pointless.

I know.. thanks anyway. This is not a starting point if driving is prohibited (same as e.g. Ravenska k.), you don't see the problem because you don't want to see it. I say if that municipal parking was looked after a bit, they could nicely collect money for renovation of many things.

@Branee, if we're on the subject, mass hiking too - the number of people coming to Kamnik Saddle (not to mention Triglav) is not really in line with the doctrine of nature conservation.
If it was really about nature protection, they'd just put a barrier there instead of a sign, and the matter is settled. But I think that sign has nothing to do with nature protection and is there for some completely different reasons.

Anyway it's not a starting point lino about these stories I've talked quite a bit with people and I know what I'm writing about. The road is currently for forest management and not intended for tourism. I have an email I'll try to find it from 2 to 3 years ago. As for vehicle damage, you can't claim it anyway because the mentioned track is not declared as such for driving. For that, a sign is not put up, rather a textual warning board

Hut is open daily until 9.10.2016, later on nice weekends, PD Kamnik members on duty. Was today on Planjava and nicely dined with the caretaker, brews veeeeery good coffee
