Kredarica

This weekend it looked really bad at first, they forecasted fourth degree avalanche danger, but then not so much snow fell and I said to myself: let's try towards Kredarica. I didn't have big hopes of reaching right to the top. In the morning stars shone nicely in Mojstrana, and ice crystals on the road too, so caution wasn't superfluous. Road to Krmo was icy, but doable without chains. Today I was the only one. To Prgarca along tracks of predecessors, already quite obscured, but still thanks a lot to the authors. From Prgarca on the tracks got lost somehow, so it was virgin snow. On snow surface crust that sometimes holds, sometimes you sink to knees or deeper. I got to the marker (railway pole on top of Ulc cca. 2000m high). That took me almost 6 hours. If I had skis (don't have dogs, only little female dog) or snowshoes (don't have) it'd go further, and on foot it was real adventure too.

Road to Krmo is plowed. Parking space for about ten cars, so end of week recommend shovel. I went with skis all the way, pedestrians no problems either, since doesn't sink much. Crampons to Kredarica currently not needed. Two wanted to summit but turned due to bad conditions. I went to the cave, checked forming ice stalactites. Biggest at end of winter, recommend visit. Then bit of chatting with meteorologists and ski down valley.
A beautiful day lies ahead1

That's Ivačičeva or Đonijeva cave. Attaching photo taken from top of Tošca, where entrance location is visible.

Hi.
Adding a few of my pics, as Mr. Franci has already posted. Path nothing special, sometimes sinks, for summit conditions need to wait till next time. Anyway, have a nice day.

I hope this cave doesn't have any connection with that small hut on the left side of Triglav Lodge...

Yes, exactly under the outhouse; that's why slightly yellow colors prevail in the cave.

I haven't visited Kredarica in winter yet and wonder how much time (approx., no need for minute-precise) I would need from car to car? Fitness is no problem.
oh, on foot not on skis.

Today first time this season on skis from Kredarica. Conditions up top OK, from Prgarca to Malo polje nasty crust, carried to Bukovje then it went. Today quite a few walkers on Kredarica, not many skiers yet. In Krma usual winter crowd on parking lots - early hour, golden hour.
