Deep condolences to the family, although I never knew Ruth.
The film of the run to Sparta is experientially perfect for this iron runner Ruth, who proved the limits of human psychophysical abilities and is a pride for Slovenia forever.
Loved ones sometimes leave us earlier due to unpredictable circumstances than the time would be right, but through the immortal spirit in us we will surely all meet again someday. Even the "dead" can be completely with us in our thoughts.

It can't be true! When I posted the article transcript, I didn't even suspect it was you, Ruth.
My deep condolences to the family, friends, all who knew her and shared her love for flowers. Dear Ruth, see you among the stars. Somewhere and sometime we will meet again.

Early in the morning a little after five I was already in Krma and parked next to Ruth's van. Last year she photographed me on Christmas morning under Vrh snežne konte. I hoped I'd get a good photo today too. I followed her ski tracks, here and there dog tracks showed up. As usual I was on foot again, so five with touring skis overtook me above Prgarca. In places it was very crusty, so I decided to go rather by the winter-winter (wind-packed) variant right under Rž, not the gully where the skiers went. It seemed a bit strange to me that I hadn't seen Ruth anywhere yet, she was usually very fast. Later from afar I saw skiers again who stopped in the middle of the gully. I was sure they stopped for a snack. Only when I crossed the gully from above towards Kredarica did I hear the helicopter and see it trying to land in very strong wind gusts, did I realize something was seriously wrong. But since there were already five of them there, I went on. The wind was really strong at times and carried huge amounts of snow.

On Kredarica I learned they found a dead female mountaineer. Since I saw Ruth's van in Krma in the morning and she didn't reach Kredarica, there was almost no other option than it being her.

On the first slope below Kredarica I dropped in again, but the snow was quite heavy and it didn't go as fast as last time. Already here I should have realized not everything was ok, but I pushed to the next one, much steeper.

I thought long whether to post this or keep it to myself. We learn from mistakes, better you learn from mine than yours. Namely, somewhere on the third of the slope a slab avalanche took me away. It didn't go too fast, when I stopped I had my head out, upper torso and arms. Of course I couldn't move legs, I was not injured. Immediately I started digging myself out, first with hands, then used ski poles (snowshoes), which I managed to pull from the snow. I never have hands in pole straps. Slowly I managed to remove backpack to sit and start digging first one leg to unclip ski, second leg pulled out with ski. How long it took to dig out I don't know. Got a proper lesson and thanked God I survived it and can share with you.

Skied on. At the place where they found Ruth it was already all blown over.

All the way down I was thinking about her. Will miss her mountain posts.

I know very few of you up here, but I put it on all your hearts, don't challenge. Get really informed beforehand how and what. Let the last days be beautiful, not full of tragic stories of mountain accidents. @bumslpepe, this must have been a good lesson and I hope you learned something from it.
I wish safe and secure paths in the mountains to all.

It's no coincidence the rule that at least three days after snowfall, depending on conditions, we have no business in the mountains. According to Rok from Annapurna and other experienced touring skiers, older generation alpinists, they tackled tours in mountains at least seven days after last snowfall. Now the modern approach to mountains overrides natural factors that just don't go together, despite best gear, avalanche transceivers, ABS, Avalung...zavijanje z očmi.And yesterday Igor and I were still trumpeting caution in mountains.

At exactly the same spot almost exactly three years ago 4 of us got buried, luckily no tragedy. We dug ourselves out alone, no injuries, just very scared and without a pole. Unfortunately this time it wasn't so. Rest in peace and condolences to family
