In no way did I mention Ruth here, I was targeting the ski tourer who still decided to ski in terrain where an avalanche had triggered shortly before. Please don't get me wrong. It was all well-intentioned. If I came off as an "idiot" with that, then I apologize. Put yourselves in the rescuers' shoes who return from a mission with the worst outcome, and the whole story repeats after a couple hours?
frnikola: I repeat again, I didn't point the finger at Ruth. It seems right to warn about dangerous conditions. I respect her, all her feats, successes,... Hats off to her.

bumslpepe, for me it's right that you showed or told what the current conditions are and what all can happen in the mountains... And others writing we go irresponsibly to mountains and endanger rescuers.. No worry, you go to mountains to enjoy and not so avalanche buries you or anything happens to you and you'd endanger rescuers. Really easiest to comment and judge after accident.. Ruth, rest in peace... To others happy steps in next days and 2013 year, me slightly discouraged for next few days.. better wait for right conditions. Regards

bumslpepe, thanks for passing on your experience, I respect such attitude. Ruth Podgornik Reš I didn't know personally, by age she was my peer, her achievements far unattainable model. Despite that it touched me badly. Sincere condolences to all her family, at farewell I'll be in thoughts with them and her.

We too are a family that likes to go to the hills in all seasons, and we enjoy it. When you hear the news that someone got injured, or even died, it hits you. Ruth Podgornik Reš we didn't know personally, but we knew of her achievements and successes.

What are the current conditions at Kredarica? Was anyone up there today? What is the snow like, is it frozen anywhere?

We were at Kredarica yesterday, weather sunny without wind, snow conditions ideal if using marked paths, snow windblown, frozen only at certain spots, good luck

As @trebija says: if you mean ski touring, then it's rather bad. There is too little snow indeed, so yesterday downhill a large part of the path we had skis on our backs. Good luck.

Traditionally, we conclude the old year with Kredarica. Today's ski touring descent we dedicated to the late Ruth. At Kredarica it was already very cheerful and before the descent we danced a bit on the sunny terrace. In 2013 Irena and I wish you as many beautiful and safe tours as possible.

With yesterday we concluded this year's ascents. Yesterday at Kredarica it was also cheerful, with warm sun and cloudless sky we really wonderfully concluded the year. In the New Year I wish everyone many safe steps, many wonderful ascents and happy returns to the valley. Good luck.

Also on the first day of the new year it was divine. At times the perfect idyll was slightly spoiled by occasional wind, so the beach in front of the hut wasn't fully occupied.

The photos shook me, because I know these were her last ones. Memories come back to the surface. I remember our meetings, companionship and the realization that she is no more.
How the colors are warm, glowing at the emerging new day and how they fade to the last one, which is only black and white.
