The first hiker without crampons arrived already yesterday; regarding today's visit the path is surely trodden.

The path is trodden, snow is not yet consolidated, so it churns quite a bit underfoot. Today including me there were at least five hikers at Kredarica.

A year ago (p. 32) at this time on Kredarica, today we just went to check the route or ski track for tomorrow's Triglav ski descent. Under Veliki Draški vrh the wind blew strongly, so it was quite cold, in the sun pleasant. Started from the bottom, that's in Radovna. Otherwise the road is drivable to Kovinarska koča, but not tomorrow.

Hello!

As a continuation of the next day, and as a participant of this Triglav ski descent, I add that the dog ski track was great, higher up quite deep. The descent was again great, first in deep powder, at the bottom smooth and not too hard ski track to Zasipska planina. Adding some "pics".

@Swiss in his post stuck to the nice Slovenian proverb that modesty is a virtue. He "forgot" to write that it was exactly him who took first place in the recreational category, where average descent time counted.

Almost Kredarica

Above 2000m it should be clear. In the morning I had first a blast somewhere in the middle of the path from Radovna to Kovinarska hut, when I got stuck in the snow with the car. After two and a half hours I finally dug out. Lots of snow. At the top there is a crust that sinks through. Got to cca 2200m (two thirds of the gully), then saw that the promised clearings won't happen and turned back. The decision was also helped by the quite brutal wind carrying snow. In Krma on the return rotten snow so bad that it was sinking even on the ski track on skis.

This time it succeeded. To Kovinarska again no way without chains (with a really low car it wouldn't go either). Morning snow quite firm, on the return completely springlike. In the steep part real enjoyment, on the flat to the car torment through slush. Surprisingly I was the only visitor yesterday at Kredarica. I saw some of them on Veliki draški vrh.

Yesterday afternoon to Kredarica. With the car it was possible to the basin at the end of the pasture, then some snow on the road. The path is mostly dry to below Vrtača, where I put on skis, but in the coming days more dry parts especially from Polje past the shepherd's hut onward to Ulce. Conditions for skiing still very good. In the next days still possible to drive with some interruptions to below Vrtača. Conditions for walkers good. Snow transformed and doesn't sink, only on clear nights hard in the morning. Lp

Yesterday Irena and I did last ski tour descent from Kredarica this season.
With car carefully avoiding holes on road beyond basin to last gravel, with higher chassis to end. Snow starts under Vrtača, then some interruptions, above Ulce still lots. Overall transformed, only new snow in upper part sinks, but not much.
Since spring best time to visit cave below Kredarica, we went underground with some others. Pics say more about beauties.
Skied back through Kurica and with a couple interruptions ended below Vrtača. Lp

Today headed to Kredarica, overnight little snow fell, which didn't cause problems, just quite mushy under feet.. nice day, Triglav summit shyly hiding... nasmeh
