Weekend at Dom pri Krnskih jezerih was fantastic. Snow is settled enough not to sink in, so walking around is pleasant for all kinds of hikers. Beach at Krn Lake is also open and lounging in the sunshine is unique nasmeh

Yesterday quick trip to the lake, snow starts at the only cable, snow this year for this time little. Snow didn't sink through, cold and windy, hut open.

Mountaineering Association Nova Gorica announces that Mountain Hut at Krn Lakes is open until Sunday, 12 April 2015. Then CLOSED.

Hut will reopen during May Day holidays namely from Thursday, 30.4.2015 afternoon to Sunday, 3.5.2015. Then CLOSED again until summer season.

At least once a year proper to visit Krn Lake too. Wife Anita and I did that this morning. Beauties outweighed somewhat monotonous path from Lepena, wind made sure we weren't too hot velik nasmeh

A little less than a month ago it was like that, now probably without noteworthy snow patches. Photo from Veliki Lemež. Already that day two came down without any gear.

The path is dry and fully passable, the few remaining snow patches can be easily avoided.

I'll just ask a question here, can anyone tell me first-hand what the situation is with drinking water on the route from Krn Lake to Prehodavci (past Bogatinsko sedlo, Planina Lopucnica etc)? I know the hut is far, but I'm interested if there's maybe somewhere to refill bottles. Somewhere I read that they have drinking water at the Hut at Triglav Lakes. Maybe elsewhere?

At Prehodavci there's also water, a bit below the hut. If I remember right it's written on the rock and there's an arrow drawn too. It flows a bit slower, but hey in the mountains nothing's in a hurry anyway.

I went to check myself velik nasmeh

From Dom Klementa Juga, the path was initially dry in places, but the last flood brought lots of logs, branches and leaves onto the path. After a few elevation meters it was much better, as I was only walking on snow.
To the cargo cableway station no problem, from there on the snow, at the snow gauge 120 cm, was breaking through. For this problem, snowshoes were invented many years ago, so I put them on and happily continued to the lake. From Planina Duplje to the lake it was firm again.
I did meet one hiker velik nasmeh
