Now I've had enough of you. I wrote that it tires me when someone asks how many snowfields there are on Kopiščarjevi and if gear is needed! First, the guy doesn't bother to look on the same page where just a few days before someone in CAPS wrote that winter gear is needed. Second, someone a few days later writes that without gear you can't go down the normal path through the southern slopes, third someone writes that there are a few snowfields, but according to him it could be done without gear maybe an ice axe? For me the tour is finished when I get down. Nothing against those who don't have gear and don't go up there even in winter and ask, but they usually ask only if there are snowfields and that info is very useful. More of a problem are those who don't want to carry it and think they can handle it. Ending my posting on this topic and yes nothing against those approach shots to Mojstrovka because except the conditions on the path they don't reveal the identity of those .....

You know, my photos weren't published to judge anyone. If people could be recognized on the photos, I wouldn't have published them. If someone still feels hurt by the publication, I apologize to them, but I still don't intend to remove the photos. Years ago I could have ended up on the same photo myself, and there weren't cameras with such zooms as today. The snow or ice was the same, treacherous. Today I wouldn't climb this snowfield anymore. Not without proper crampons and ice axe, which, since I know the path continuation is rocky, I don't intend to carry the whole way in my backpack. I'll go to Mojstrovka preferably a month later. That's why I'm grateful to everyone who posts their opinion or photo about a certain route in the "Current conditions" topic. Many times these opinions helped me choose the tour. But I published these three photos because I know that in the coming days crowds of hikers will flock to Hanza, who think this path is beautiful, adrenaline-filled, well secured, just the right length to be home for lunch. Let each of them decide for themselves whether it might be better to choose some other goal. I'm wondering why none of those who actually went over there speak up. I'm sure there are at least a couple of them reading this. Tell your opinion, photos are often much scarier than the real situation. Or maybe not. Are you perhaps afraid to admit you risked a bit? Everyone does. Don't worry about a few grumblers who might be horrified that it was irresponsible. Think that with your post you'll help someone choose a tour for the upcoming weekend. Maybe you'll even prevent some... ...posting of an unwanted photo. Good luck!

In short, the spot is really very dangerous without winter gear. The probability of an accident is even greater because the spot is very tempting, since it's only 4 m to the cable... but these 4 m are like Russian roulette...

Matej, you did right to post pictures that actually show the current conditions. None of those on the picture speak up, maybe because they are foreigners and don't follow hribi.net. Best, M

12.6. I tried but since I didn't have crampons and ice axe with me I didn't go. 26.6. I had crampons and ice axe so I went up the Hanzova route.

Hello! Does anyone have any info on conditions on Hanzova path to Mojstrovkas? Are crampons and ice axe still needed? Best, Grega

This is really a super variant on how to make Mojstrovka more pristine. The path through Mala Pišnica is really worth multiple repeats in different seasons. We went last week to Macesen and then to Vršič.

Today in wonderful weather to Mala (via Hanzova) and then also to Velika Mojstrovka, descent via the southern path over Grebenc. Path nice and without peculiarities (below MM summit slippery from salt), many visitors - at noon it was like mid-summer at Vršič. But autumn is felt, as it was quite cold at VM summit. Autumn colors - the larches still need about 10 days. Let's hope it stays snow-free until mid-November, then yes, then it will be time for winter.
