Franci - what's the snow like, can one get there without skis or snowshoes and is the road plowed? Surely you also know conditions in Pripravniški.

Walked on foot too. Hard in the morning, soft in the afternoon. Road plowed, icy in places. Pripravniška should be nice. nasmeh

Today on Little Mojstrovka. Today in the morning the path for hikers was passable without major issues with proper gear.(ice axe, crampons). On the road with good winter tires it also goes without problems. Today was a wonderful day, great views. Met only skiers and boarders. I was the only hiker. Nice mountaineer's greeting.

Today beautiful day on Little Mojstrovka. In the morning snow was frozen, and the path is already well trodden. Today many hikers and skiers went up. I went up the south path, down via training slope. But on descent it warmed up so much that heel sank into snow so it went great down. Morning sunny, only along the ridge sometimes really windy. Road to Vršič normally drivable, just caution on some bends as there's still some ice.

If I understand correctly, is Pripravniška nicely snow-covered? Has anyone maybe gone further to Velika Mojstrovka? I'm curious about the skiing from it through Drevesnica. Thanks for info.

That's right Nejc, Pripravniška is well snow-covered, but I recommend you go up it and not down like I did as it's quite annoying to walk in reverse velik nasmeh

. To Velika Mojstrovka on Sunday went quite a few skiers, don't know how the skiing went, maybe one of them reports and tells you first-hand. Best

Hi! For ski touring conditions I recommend visiting some touring site, e.g. www.snezak.si or conditions on Turni klub gora.

Was yesterday in these parts, in half-family setup. Started at 7:15 from Vršič via Zupančičeva to top of Mala Mojstrovka (excellent conditions), then to Velika Mojstrovka. Snow was good, ascent undemanding for the averagely experienced. There we left skis and backpacks and climbed to Zadnja Mojstrovka. No issues, even without knowing the way, predecessors' tracks were clear.
After 11 it started strongly sun-softening (wind stopped which previously cooled the air) and ski descent from Velika Mojstrovka through Drevesnica was barely ok. Not bad, but no special pleasure. Who wants better conditions should be a good hour earlier under these.
Quite a few visitors during the day in all these spots and routes. LP

The gully is Župančičeva because it was Uroš Župančič and not Zupančič. Just for information.

A very short section is bare, then a short stretch of mixed scree and snow, the rest is all snowy. Hard in the morning and early forenoon, then it softens. Of course depending on temperatures, wind...

Today on little and big Mojstrovka. From Vršič directly to the ridge and on to m.mojstrovka and further to the big one. Frozen in the morning, after 11 it softened in the sun. Conditions for walking super.

With Barbara and Metod at half past six from Vršič via the beginner's route to MM. Conditions excellent, weather super, just a bit of wind at the top. Hikers, ski tourers, course participants and more. We were early enough that it wasn't tracked out yet. It was a nice day.
