Hi. Does anyone know the conditions for Mala Mojstrovka? Avalanches, slips? I have crampons, helmet, no ice axe. Which path is the safest? Thanks, Best, Igor.

Stable, no avalanches. Winter gear mandatory, especially in the gully under the saddle. Today probably more frozen due to cloudy weather than in my report.

P.S. Crampons without ice axe NOT safe combination. It can be rented in many places.

In these conditions without an ice axe - and knowledge to use it - no path to Mojstrovka is safe.
In winter the frost that can freeze the path a bit earlier and make safe movement without proper gear impossible can come very quickly.

People, don't you read what happens in the mountains due to slips; broken, dead. Anyone asking if winter gear is needed in such conditions SHOULD STAY HOME!!
If not for yourself, then for the rescuers who feel the consequences long after each action.

Days for yelling and so we drove to Vršič and climbed with crampons and ice axe in hands to Mala Mojstrovka. On the scree above the pass worse for skiing, but ideal for walking. On Grebenc also passages without snow, further on the mountainside hard and frozen, partly icy. More at: https://www.gore-ljudje.net/novosti/151346/

As the previous one wrote...days for yelling but due to work only in the afternoon velik nasmeh

. I needed winter gear from Vršič onwards, all the way to the top of Mala Mojstrovka.

A little more to Vratc... but here my phone falls and miraculously stops after 150 meters of altitude :)

On the top a beautiful view towards Triglav

Also today quite a lot of visitors, but it happened for the first time that I stayed alone on M.M. because all went to Velika Mojstrovka. Because there was quite a crowd on it, I rather descended towards Vršič and turned to Nad Šitom glava. That one that day rather deserted, as on descent I met only two hikers. Well, trainees were under Mojstrovka. Conditions for walking already mentioned above by others and unchanged.

Today very good conditions for ski ascent. "Path" without peculiarities, except above Vratci where it is icy and crampons and ice axe are necessary.

On Sunday we arranged to check Miniskus gully in Robičje. Snow conditions from 17th hairpin looked quite bad, so we concluded probably missing some wedge. So we headed to top of Vršič, where many GRS vehicles parked, both Slovenian and Croatian.

View towards Mojstrovkas and NŠG showed anthill of people ascending, hoped they were not going into gullies. And yes, some went normal route, others to NŠG where they had exercises.

Since some new snow terrain is not full concrete, but sinks nicely in places. Butinarjeva thus out. Župančičevo visited with friend two weeks ago. So Pripravniška remains, or try to combine a bit - somewhere between Pripravniška and Župančičevo. Colleague tried and found not hard enough, so continued on Pripravniška. Jump due to new snow bit more "gentle", but doable. On top quite large cornice, belayer calculated if it falls on head weighs ca. 100kg per cubic meter. Food for thought.

Conditions OK, for some gullies snow not enough processed. Also quite a few touring skiers.

The jump in the gully is nicely filled but gentle.

On Sunday witnessed mountaineering paradox: numerous trainings of mountain rescuers and teams with rescue dogs, who use rare free time to be even more effective helping people in distress, and on other side those who should train so no GRS work (or least possible), and who use free time after tour for selfies and beer pleasures! Conditions for ascent not best, descent though - at least middle part, excellent.

Today Little Mojstrovka bathed in the sun. Path normally passable with winter gear. Views wonderful, mountaineers and skiers quite a few. Nice mountaineering greeting.

Road to Vršič normally drivable. On Mojstrovka conditions for skiing super. For walking also not so much new snow that trail couldn't be broken. From Vršič pass onwards already trampled. Cornice above Pripravniško still threatens.
