Yesterday on Montaz via Pipan ladder. Snow starts at the beginning of the scree under Montaz and there is about 10cm along the whole path. For ascent definitely recommend ice axe, especially in 2 or 3 couloirs between scree and Pipan ladder.

Yesterday it was a beautiful day on Montaz, on path via Pipan ladder just a trace of snow left, winter gear not needed but of course some extra caution required.

If you try you can bypass it almost everywhere. In the gully it's a bit harder though.

Yesterday there was really perfect weather for a visit, you could see it because there was Slovenian occupation on the summit. As tinky says, snow can be avoided and it is really worth the visit.

Yesterday afternoon I headed to Montaz.
it all went like this:
Across partially snow-covered meadows I take it straight, yeah pulling the shortest line up to the rocks under the wall. Sun pleasantly warms, temperature optimal for the chosen route, but cloudiness increasing from the west. Lojtra didn't tempt me, so I went to western slopes of Vrh Brda. Snow was crusty but base firm and crampons gripped well. For help I have one old hiking axe, don't need more, we've shared nice moments in mountains already. On ridge deep view down to Zajzera appears. Traverse left on south side, then exposed traverse on north side. Snow soft and lots of it, several hundred meters of void below me.
Continuation to ridge above "lojtra" easy, snow super obedient. Notice old tracks somewhere but they end at ridge start. Further nicely snow-covered but also passable, nowhere particularly exposed.
From west really clouded over, but above Resia hole through which light shines. Don't stay long on summit as equally long descent awaited.
