Conditions in ozebnik, has anyone been there recently?

@andrej78 ... conditions in the couloir are summer conditions, meaning no snow on the path, everything else as usual. Not for everyone, but one of the nicer approaches to Montaz

12.7 on Montaz from pl.Pecol via F. couloir to summit and descent via P. lojtra, path without major features, nice warm day.

Adding one more detail on this path, as poor, insufficient and faded markings are mentioned in several comments: markings on the path from the top of the scree towards bivouac Suringar - around the west face of Montaz are newly painted with red dots (really well visible and traceable), but for continuing up through Findenegg couloir unfortunately no more. Unfortunately the same - faded or gone, applies to other routes, either from Rifugio Brazza, for Pipan ladder or via ferrata Leva and to Špik Hude Police.

Today with a colleague we conquered Montaz via Findenegg couloir. At six we were already at Planina Pekol. Then straight to saddle Forca dei Disters. Unfortunately Montaz was completely in fog, so we climbed the left peak from saddle-Jof dei Disteis-2230m. We went to the end also to neighboring peak-Curtissons-2241. From there wonderful view to neighboring peak-Strma peč. Path to these two peaks not marked, there are tracks but they occasionally get lost in high grass and scree. Then after an hour and a half fog lifted and we set off to Montaz via Findenegg couloir. Today it really lived up to its name, it was so cold almost freezing. Rock luckily not too wet, so we could climb quite solidly on this rock. No one on summit at the moment. On descent met a group of Croats. Had safety gear and used it on descent. Pics later.

At Surtissonssu - that's the second little peak left of the saddle - we experience enlightenment - gloria.

Both positioned ourselves next to each other - unusual play of nature - very rare phenomenon. The clock was there around nine in the morning.

Then we spot a herd of females with young.

The colleague was on Montaž for the first time, I for the second time via the same route.

Satisfied, because we conquered the summit of Montaž.

Already from the Pekol pasture-Špik Hude police-the easiest to reach summit of the Poliški Špiki.

Perhaps some flower-rhellikanije murka is common here. Above two thousand meters they can still be found.

Around the summit of Montaž blooms the Triglav rose.

At altitudes above two thousand meters numerous saxifrages are at home.

On the Pekol pasture already blooms the cup gentian-herald of autumn.

I don't want to come off as "picajzlast", but in picture no. 10 there is a chamois doe mežikanje

And does anyone know if Montaž has a stamp, when I was there first time a few years ago, there was such a crowd that I didn't even look for it, if there was one?

I'm not a great expert on mountains west of Montaž, but I can say that on the first Velkavrh picture the central mountain isn't Strma peč, but at most Zabuš. Strma peč is right between the rock and Zabuš. The text under the second picture isn't entirely correct either, since there's no Strma peč on the picture.

I admit that I am an amateur in recognizing peaks and a non-expert. I'll correct it. I was looking at the map. The first two pinnacles left of the saddle I named correctly, next is indeed Monte Zabus-2244. Strma peč-Monte Cimone-2380 is left of Zabuš. I'll check if I even captured it on photos. Unfortunately I can't correct the text - but I corrected the captions on the photos.

If I understood correctly, Strma peč is that peak in the middle of the picture.

Yesterday on Špik nad Policami. Up through F.ozebnik to the top and descent over the ridge and Pipan ladder. We continued the path towards Špik Hude police. F ozebnik is an interesting path, demanding and adrenaline-filled, here and there we got a bit confused searching for the right direction. On the path quite a few hefty ibex males (read males), one even followed us through the ozebnik, for a while patient with our slow climbing and hold-finding troubles, then lost patience and overtook us on the right mežikanje

Upper part of ozebnik requires strong arms and legs, steps are quite high, especially with shorter legs, scree adds too. Ridge is airy and reminds of Jalovec's. Nice view from top, not too hot and light wind. No stamp, book and compass at top (which all peaks above Pecol more than deserve). Descended via P.ladder just in time, as 3 larger groups came up shortly after. Traverse to Špik Hude police is adrenaline-packed, well protected and scenic. Here and there another peg could be, otherwise lots of protection. Descent along mulattiera to hut and parking. While descending we watched rescue helicopter taking off, rescuing injured hiker under Montaž mrk pogled

. Nice circular demanding and adrenaline tour. Helmet and SMV use mandatory. Walking for 8-10 hours.

On the ridge the summit soon appears - 2753 nmv.

On Saturday with a friend first by bike to planina Pecol and then on foot to Pipan ladder to Montaž summit. Descent again down the ladder and further on Leva path to planina...at the end short bike descent to start.

Oh, on Saturday morning I'd go with my guy to Montaž from planina Pecol via Pippan ladder. Can anyone tell me what the conditions are like (especially I'm interested in possible snow)?

Helmet mandatory, SMV recommended and early hour to avoid crowds and waiting in the Pippan ladder itself. mežikanje

Hi.
As predecessors said, everything OK. We were up on 7.8. through the chimney and back via ladder.
In the whole day we met 5 people besides chamois, although it was busy at the parking lot in the morning.
On the way back we also jumped to Mangart where it was a different story, real crowds. zmeden
