These chamois came to Nanos Thursday afternoon, of course from north side. Saw them at 19h on grass under Grmada. About 6. Surely same group.

Chamois often seen on Nanos cliffs, mostly pairs. Yesterday around 15. Today none. Maybe too crowded, Nanos very visited. lp

Hello!
Yesterday the weather was not exactly on our side, but it didn't bother us much. Not us, not the crowd of other visitors.
Despite fog and wind we had a good time, stretched our legs and cleared our lungs.

I'm glad the week ended well. Well, tomorrow it will still be sunny in the east and we'll head out on the annual Trip, the one from Litija to Čatež.

Does Nanos still have any snow at the moment? What's the path like? Is strong wind forecast for this area tomorrow too? Locals probably know your mountain best! Thanks!

No snow and the path is winding.  A bit muddy in places.. Tomorrow probably still quite calm, Monday moderate bora. Last days excellent visibility all over Slovenia and maybe tomorrow on the gentle path at St. Jerome even Triglav visible. Go and report, I'll watch you from the coast

Snow either too little or too much, but never just right
Up the steep one it went, down via Plaz (or gorge, scree, not sure exactly what the path to Razdrto left of the steep one is called, which is quite visited in snowy times) quite slippery and too little snow, even for microspikes.
Still it was fun as usual...

That path, looking from the top left downwards, we call "drča". It really is quite visited, (and also "worn out") especially by those who are "regular" visitors to Nanos. They avoid the crowds this way. regards

Today the thermometer in front of the hut entrance showed -7°C at 1pm.
The path is the slipperiest between the stone marked "800m, R+V" or "Vojkova koča" and the junction for Janez's path. Crampons and gaiters not necessary yet, but will be very soon.
Otherwise no winter for Eskimos.

Today Nanos was basking in the sun, while all lower Primorska areas were flooded by a sea of fog. From Razdrto conditions are dry, no trace of snow, winter. Just below Pleše summit it's good to follow the marked trail on the north-east slope, as it can blow annoyingly from behind on the ridge.

Hello,
I'm interested in the current conditions on Nanos. Pepč I see you wrote yesterday that the weather up there is nice, but I'm mainly wondering if there's still any snow up there, or if it's possible to drive up by car, as we need to get to the broadcasting center on Nanos.

Peanuts I would call the hut keeper and ask him, 14 days ago the road was still a bit snowy here and there.

Highways are made for cars. Nanos and other hills please leave to walkers! Nanos is already very burdened and polluted with noise from the surrounding roads.
