Since I can see Nanos from my balcony, I can comment here as much as I want. There is snow on Nanos.

Snow is only on the plateau and it's 1-2 cm. Soon there won't be any more....

Next month I plan to visit Nanos with a small group. Since I haven't seen a description of the path Furlan shelter at Abram - Vojak hut on Nanos anywhere, I'm interested if this path is well marked and what the difficulty is. I only found that the path is about 2 hours long. So if anyone has hiked the mentioned path, I'd ask for a short description or at least to tell me if the path is well marked.

The path from Abram shelter to Vojak hut on Nanos is part of the Slovenian mountain traverse. It runs entirely on easy terrain, first through forest, then on hayfields and meadows, some also on road. The path is marked and takes approx. 2 hours. regards

After a long time I visit Nanos. I go up the steep path. The path is very "repaired". In many places wooden "steps" are placed, in a few places the path is consolidated and new channels are made (old ones cleaned), which prevent erosion. On the way I learn that the path markers had a training on Nanos. Judging by the repaired path, they were very diligent and hardworking. So all thanks to the participants and the course leadership. Now it's up to us, Nanos visitors, to walk existing paths and not create shortcuts and "our own" paths. Otherwise Nanos is now adorned with lush flowers and it's worth visiting. Good luck!

Nanos was the right choice from the weather point of view today, but it wasn't particularly crowded. But at this time it's really nice, grass is green and full of flowers.

I agree. I was with my son today on Nanos. Up steep, down gentle. You can never regret it. Peace, solitude (hut closed Tuesday too), couple of older calm people... Like the sea, here man finds peace.
