From Okna to Obel kamen the path is marked. Towards the top there are also some protections. Markings are really a bit older, probably you missed the right path somewhere. Need to look better. Lp

True, a bit below the top old markings appear but you can see they were renewed long ago.

Today from Austrian side past Okna to Obel kamen, along ridge to Govce and back past Potočka zijalke. Olševa was just above the fog, which despite warm sun just wouldn't dissipate .

How are the markings from Okna towards Obel kamen on the left, steep path?

Markings start a bit before summit of Obel kamna. Path is steep and if you stick to the visibly traceable track you can't miss. Left is wall that blocks you from going that way. 15 minutes before summit you reach wire rope and Austrian markings. LP

Pohodnica53, I can almost see you enjoying, inhaling refreshing air and surrendering to sun rays and how with heavy heart returning to valley full of noise and filth. Wonderful pictures. Nice greeting and luck.

To avoid the fogs in the valley, today I headed to the "balcony" KSA. The wonderful path on the south side to Govco was in the sun the whole time. I descended in stronger wind along the ridge to Obel kamen and back to the valley. No snow on the ridge! Lp

As part of K 24 we headed to Olsevo. To the Forsnerce hunting hut, the path is dry. In Mrzli dol then snow starts, not much and it doesn't present obstacles. Along Olsevo ridge, except strong wind there were no obstacles that would bother walking.

Edina, nicely exploring these beautiful Carinthian mountains. But I'm interested which path you took from north to Olševa, or where you left the car. At Kumru? LP

This time with husband to Olševa (and a bit further) from another starting point. Zg.Sleme-Lepi vrh-Visoka peč-Olševa-Obel kamen then down to okna and back around to Potočka zijalka, up again to Obel kamen and along Olševa ridge back to Sleme. From Obel kamen down to okno, in the morning there was a bit of ice under the shoes as expected this time, especially on north sides of mountains. Lp

Me too on Sunday escaped from fog to nicer Gor past Potočka to the top, back to Obel kamen and down that steep Austrian valley. That one knows in wet especially downhill nice toboggan. Beautiful day, right Trogar, hard to return back to fog. Best regards.

08.12.2011. From Kumra I continued on the road, accompanied by light drifting snow. I turned off the hunting light hoping for the hunters' caution. Otherwise who would be out in such weather? Well, if I am, then it can...... Soon Repija behind me, the road also ends. Now carefully with the light as the trail is quite narrow in some places. At the trough, I already feel that there will be a real gale on Olševa. On the new track it sinks quite a bit but therefore the fallen trees have been removed. Also in the steep section the track is a bit repaired, which throws me out of my thoughts and I focus more on the path. In Mrzli dol, I feel new old snow underfoot. At the top I don't know which direction to turn from the wind. The book hasn't been stamped by PD Ljubno for a long time - at least I'm not freezing while signing. I quickly return the same way. Then along the long ridge, the wind merciless to me. The descent on the steep slope was acrobatic. Lightly covered roots and stones are real traps. A few times I found myself in the air, did a turn and landed a few meters lower. In such cases I always waited where it would hurt the most, when it didn't happen, I jumped over stones again and as fast as possible towards Sleme. Once I also hugged a larch tightly, which didn't move away. On lower Sleme I was already walking in daylight, the day gives new strength.
