@Hribovc88
No hard feelings, but you've injected too much subjectivity into your writing. The secured trail to Peca is among the least demanding of its kind, and with self-belaying or sufficient experience it's very suitable even for kids. The most awkward part is the somewhat exposed downward passage near the start of the trail, but it's really not worth mentioning. Anyway, no big deal if steel cables aren't your cup of tea, since there are tons of nice trails without them.

I'm wondering if this climbing path is exposed? No issues with climbing, but I have a fear of heights.

@SkipEU if you have fear of looking into the depths, then don't go on the secured trail. Good luck!

The ladders aren't the problem (I go on those without issue), the problem is only if there's a really deep precipitous (!) view straight down. That's why I was just wondering if there's any particularly exposed spot on this trail.

No serious exposure anywhere.

I did the trail without problems, really not difficult.

After a longer break due to health issues, I'm trying to get back into gear. So we were at Peca yesterday, more precisely at Kordeževa glava. By car from Črna on the highway to the parking lot at Jakobah. The road is quite solid for gravel. We climbed to the top via a very difficult trail. Before my description, I read very different comments about this trail. The trail description http://www.hribi.net/izlet/jakobe_kordezeva_glava_peca_lahka_pot/11/665/2554 is very realistic, as it has all the features of very difficult trails. But in my opinion, it's one of the easiest among them. The protections are all in good condition, except for one pulled-out peg on one of the ladders. Weather at the top variable, on the way back it sprinkled us a bit. At Dom na Peci lots of visitors and good service. In short, after a longer break, a pleasant hike in pleasant company. Best regards and safe steps from under beautiful Golte, Janez

Hi Janez! They say nettles don't freeze. I have to admit I was wondering where you're hiking and what you're doing, or if you're just waiting for the first snow to slide down the slope Well, just glad you're back in old form and greetings from under beautiful Golte will come again. Safe travels and many nice views from Boskovec.

Today again to Peca, like JTrogar: from Jakob - this time in three. Arrival at Jakobe at 7:30, parking full, had to park on the road downhill. The trail that stuck in my memory from last year passes quickly to the hut, and onwards too. Views from the top still good, KSA peaks visible, Kamniško sedlo in clouds again. Behind Košuta ridge Triglav shyly shows, but disappears into clouds quickly during that hour on top. Return to the hut, something warm in the belly and back to the car, before that check the cave of King Matjaž if he's still sleeping... Wonderful family outing that needs to be supplemented with another. LP

Ivan, hello! Nice pics you "posted" . I'm glad you're back on the forum, even more that you're back in the mountains. We've really missed your photos and path descriptions. Nice regards from the other side of Golte in Žekovec! Dani

Vito and Dani, thanks to both. Just like others' descriptions often help me, I hope mine are helpful and entertaining for you too. You know, wife sometimes teases me when I get back from a hike while writing the description, if I'm doing homework again. Nice regards and safe steps from under beautiful Golte, Janez

Yesterday, my girlfriend and I climbed the secured path to the Peca summit. The path itself has no special features. We met only a handful of hikers, none of whom went to the top. A few hundred meters before the hut, a chamois crossed our path; I've never seen one on Peca before. Weather on the top windy, foggy and quite cold, around Dom na Peci pleasantly warm.

Today great weather. Fog in valley, from hut onwards (but a bit lower) sun, clear. Hut open but kitchen closed, friendly guys just "on duty", but drinks available Note the road to parking, today couldn't drive to the lot due to timber extraction, also broken branches along road (snow effect) and some rocks on road (small slides), aja, speaking of road from Mežica.
