Trail from Fajmut (Topla valley) to Peca, up via Knepsovo sedlo and down marked trail over Mala Peca, I liked it once already. Today no different. Start Topla valley (-mine. Description on this www), at signs in first pic left and nice traceable trail to Kneps sedlo. Really nice, picturesque trail. Snow practically to 1800m none, starts almost at saddle, there little snow, trail well trodden and hard. No need for crampons today from this side. At top despite unpromising rumbling surprisingly little wind, summit practically bare. Back other side, to hut closed, bit before it at sign for Mala Peca. Here most snow and wading, descent trail icy and snowy, so crampons only around 1500m. Must visit King still sleeping, then picturesque traverse Peca slopes back to start. In between one trail section new since last year, kudos maintainers! Steepness really tough, so switchbacks in corners. No big crowds. Well, none at all.

Today I decide to check conditions, from Kumr to Peca. To forest line mostly dry, above forest line still lots of snow. Mostly well frozen, sometimes breaks through, so I put on gaiters. At Knepsovo sedlo meet two hikers, little chat. On Kordezova glava less wind than before on path. Logbook and return, which lasted until 18h due to clearing path. Wind calmed in afternoon too. Regards.

Can you already go up without crampons, especially safe down?

On Easter Monday it was possible to safely ascend Peca without crampons. Route: Topla Valley-Knipsovo sedlo-Peca-Dom pod Peco-Topla Valley.

Nice trail, the steepness to the saddle is quite tough, doesn't ease a bit.

According to the forecast, it's better to postpone the tour to another day, because on Easter Monday it was very windy and cold at the top.

Today despite bad weather I went up to Peca. Started in drizzle under Kum. With altitude rain changed to snow. Above tree line still lots of old snow, so I put on snowshoes and continued without problem. Midway fog hit me, getting thicker and thicker, twice even so dense I stopped a moment and picked right way. Arriving at slope strong wind came up, almost got me to turn back early. New snow up to thirty cm. Towards Kordzeva glava mostly blown clean, ice patches formed but due to not too frozen weather not slippery. At top propped camera against panoramic rock and managed to snap myself. Then quick to valley, to tree line my tracks already wiped out. Lp.

Sun and south wind did their job. Snow persists only a bit below the summit. All day in shorts. Climbing route dry and well secured. Food in hut excellent. And the king is still sleeping.....

From Kumra over Peca, past hut on Peca and over Pika to Zerjav. From Kumra few hundred meters down, then seriously few hours up. Above tree line pick hunters path much drier so walk almost km still dry. Then over rotten snow over Knipsovo sedlo to Kordezeva glava. To Peca also not without wind. Follow same sequence and leave summit on as dry grass as possible. Later to hut already summer conditions. Use hut open. For my 19th loop agree descend to mitnik past St Helen church because here till now not walked K-24. Descend to Musenik then along bright to car in Zerjav.

To conditions on Peca I'd add just a bit, yes path to Peca walked yesterday - for me nicest from Topla valley over Knipsovo sedlo to hut,... At spot where last year bridge was damaged now new routed over steep woods part well done but watch feet because great snake spot almost stepped on black viper. LP!
