Yesterday, 12.1.2014, we did a circular tour: Rudnik in Topla - pathless past Knipsovo sedlo - summit Kordeževa glava - Hut on Peca - Votlina Kralja Matjaža - Mala Peca - Rudnik in Topla.
The tour took 8 hours.
The day was sunny and we had fantastic views 
The path to the summit past Knipsovo sedlo is steep, snow starts at 1500 m a.s.l. Luckily the snow was not sinking, but we had small crampons on all the time (big ones would not have been superfluous either), as without them we could not have gotten up that side. The track is partly made, in between we had to make it ourselves.

Today 15 hikers m/f from PD Mislinja joined the 26th Matjaž winter hike to Peca (2125 m). Start at karavla, first to the hut, then two hikers to Kordeževa glava. Shortly after hut heavy snow started as if on purpose, gale-force wind till the top, visibility very poor at times with snow blowing, wind so strong it threw you around. So much snow it won't run out for next twenty years, once settled holds like cement or so. Despite gale many hikers and ski tourers on Peca today.

Good pics dude, good you went to the top, otherwise not worth it esp if alone from Karavla or Mitnek ridge. I'll wait a bit till conditions right again then blast up from Mežica. Haven't seen anyone go up the ferrata yet

Thanks, dude, see we went up to the top, but that wind, just about 100 km/h blowing, but you got terror, eh , if you look closely many turned halfway weirdly, it swayed me a bit too but I didn't give in, good we reached the top. Ascent all ice, warmly recommend crampons.
