First Peca this year. Mežica-Kordeževa glava-Mežica. Cold start then inversion and in the warmest part I walked even in a sleeveless shirt. Wind on the ridge and same on the top, where gusts were sometimes quite strong. Fantastic view Croatia,Donačka gora,Trdinov vrh,Sljeme,Snežnik, KSA,Julijci,Austrian giants, etc. Little snow, wind blew it all away in places. Also on the secured path without special issues, just some southern snow. The tour was spiced up by pleasant hikers' company.mežikanje

Today up from Topla. To Mala Peca path mostly dry here and there a bit icy. Secured path requires extra caution at two or three spots-snow, ice. On top very strong wind, in between even more obvious gusts. Otherwise total thaw, walked most of the path in short sleeves.

Today on Peca in nice slightly windy weather, that's how it was on top. Path from the valley dry, higher icy, towards top new snow allows soft walking.

Hi.
I'm interested where the nearest starting point for the "easy marked path" is, if coming from the Celje direction?
Thanks.

Nearest starting point is at Mitnek or in Crna, if you want from the valley up, Topla isn't much farther; of course all assuming you'll come via Sleme to Crna.

Thanks, regards

Crossing Peca

Today Nejc and I started hiking below Kum. Right after leaving the road we started trampling dry snow. Depth is more than half a meter. To reach above tree line we spent quite some energy. From there strong wind accompanied us. Peca slope is windblown so skiing is very hard. Wind was the strongest today I remember. At Kneps saddle it uprooted the pole with signs and moved it to southern slope. Due to conditions we quickly left the summit. Halfway to hut it was still blowing from all sides. In the shelter of the forest we calmly descended to valley.

KUMER,PECA,ČRNA as part of K-24

Nejc and I, joined by Uroš. During preparation at Kumer, it got dark outside. So we started the hike with lights. On the way, we guessed how much the sunny day had softened the path to Peca. I had snowshoes on my backpack and used them. The path was quite soft, so I heard some nice curses from Uroš ahead. On the slope, where there was less snow, the wind bothered us. Anyway, the summit awaited us, but due to the wind, we didn't linger. On descent, we detoured to the Peca hut; I was sure it would be open due to the hike. From the hut, we descended the shortest path to Črna.

Hello, I'm wondering if anyone has skied from Peca and what the conditions are like.

Gotta ask more precisely, which direction you wanna ski from Peca. From Kordeževa glava or maybe ski slope on Austrian side. Anyway around half meter new snow on Peca for sure. If I had such issue, I'd go check it out then decide how and what. Regards.

Please reply - what are conditions on path to summit, how much snow and is hut under Peca open? Is difficult path passable? Thanks in advance and best regards from Varaždin!

Hut is open on weekends, path is also trodden so there should be no problem.
