Today on Peca, up via secured path, back via easier one. The path was more demanding due to yesterday's rain, otherwise nice.

On Saturday I did a tour over all the highest peaks of Peca. Start on the road in the valley and then via the ridge path to Dom na Peci (path is nicely followable - credit to mountain bikers and quite a few markers), then peaks: Mala Peca, Kordeževa glava, Konjska glava, Končnikov vrh, Bistriška pica, Veška kopa. Descended to Luže and then a bit more walking on macadam. Not much in views, low clouds didn't reach the ridge, but from the side, especially in the upper part of the secured path. On the Austrian side sun and huge crowds on both sides. On top of Peca a wanderer from Mitneka kept us company jezik

Otherwise nice tour worth repeating.

On Saturday on Peca. Mežica-Kordeževa glava-Mežica. Lower part pure autumn, winter starts on ascent to Dom na Peci. Sun to the saddle then fog that enveloped all peaks late morning. Those who were early had an even nicer tour. Snow about 30 cm, path well trodden. Overall solid early winter for a few days. Lots of visitors though.

Partially demanding trail due to timber hauling. Caution.

Hi,
was anyone on Peca this weekend? Is there still snow up there?
How is the path Topla - Knipsovo sedlo (direct) - wet, steep, snowy?

Paths were completely dry already 3 days after snowfall, so no worry about snowy paths. Conditions will change again in a few days though, it seems.

Today broke trail from Mežica to the top. Up to the hut nothing particularly difficult with up to 40 cm of snow, no big drifts. From the hut to the saddle already quite a bit harder, then to the ridge even a bit harder, below the ridge we joined forces with another hiker and then over the ridge we managed to push through some drifts up to the waist. The last ascent was a big bite, trudging and crawling. The summit is completely windswept jezik

The track is made, which eased the work for hikers behind us. The sun rewarded us; on the return fog covered the summit and ridge. I don't remember ever having to work so hard for Peca already in November.

Domch, thanks for the trail. Thanks to you two we reached the top easier and enjoyed the nice views.

Today from Topla past Dom via secured path to summit. Snow appears at Dom and not much more to top and even less in coming days. mežikanje

On secured path only one gully is snowy, where caution is needed; I didn't use ice axe here.
From top continued to Knipsovo sedlo and via "Knapovka" to car. To saddle and a bit below it south-facing snow that gives way, but no issues, lower none anymore.

Hi,

was anyone on Peca in last days and can say how much snow left? Would go via climbing path from Jakob and easy path back. Can one still drive to start with car?

Snow already on Monday wasn't much, now even less. And to Jakob you can easily drive too I think. mežikanje

Today from Topla to Knipsovo sedlo, left over Končnikov vrh to Bistriška špica, along the ridge still some drifted snow on the path, back to sedlo and to Peca. No Šajba, then descent to hut for a beer and back to Topla to the car

today there was no view at least when I was on the top

Yes I was on Saturday also on Peca. Went from Kumr to the top and then past the hut to the valley. Just some smaller snow patches otherwise bare.

Today on Peca. This time, after two tracks, a real autumn idyll. From Topla to Mala Peca, via ferrata to Kordeževa glava, where I had coffee. Continued to Konjska glava and via Knipsovo sedlo back to Topla. Beautiful views, very warm and here and there a little breeze on top. Lots of visitors from all directions. Some smaller snowfields only towards Knipsovo sedlo and under Končnikov vrh, and even that just a sample.

What are the current conditions on Peca? Is it dry? Where is it icy?

I was there last week - almost no snow, except some patches that can be avoided!

This morning on Peca welcomed the sunrise. Temperature really wintery. Path from Podpece all the way to the top without issues. Only towards the top individual patches of frozen snow, but they can be bypassed. Views pure fantasy - as far as the eye reaches. On return "Dom na Peci" still unfortunately closed, we were too early.

Today on Kordeževa glava. From bottom of Kralja Matjaža valley over ridge to Dom na Peci and via ferrata to the top. Descent over normal path and via Mihev back to valley. Conditions very good. To Mala Peca no wind, on ferrata nicely warm and at some spots a pinch of new snow. From fuzbal placa up, not too strong wind that strengthened around noon and blew whole ridge path back. Quite some visitors, view very nice, hut closed here too.
