Hi, does anyone maybe have fresh info on path conditions to Peca? Also interested in the state of the road to the mine in Topla. I imagine it's icy there....

Probably quite icy to the mine, but with crampons it shouldn't be a problem.

It's almost clear what the roads are like mid-winter in closed alpine valleys. With winter gear in the hills and on the roads.

Hello! I'm wondering if anyone has been to the summit these days from the Jakobe parking lot and what the path is like? Thanks

Today there was a winter hike to Peca so the path is trodden from Mitnek and Karavla.

Romana, Nejc and I went to Peca from Kum today. We wanted Peca not to be too lonely today, well there was quite some visitors. Without skis or snowshoes it's hard to manage. Regards. Janez

What's the path to Peca like? Wondering if small chain crampons are enough. Thanks

The path from the hut to Peca is undemanding, from where you start depends on road drivability. Someone else will say something about the conditions...

Peca, 19.2. Conditions excellent, crampons not really necessary, but most of us had them, all kinds, small, a bit bigger and ... We two started from the karavla, some higher, starting point Jakobe, but need to think about the car, that it's a bit higher and well-shod. Regards!

Today looking for King Matjaž, mission unsuccessful , but for the summit I can't say that...of course, plan was normal route from Mitnik, up and down, but when I saw the "wall" of difficult path + got info that no one has gone yet, ups ...of course I went and tried and yes, why easy if it can be harder ...but needs care, conditions very different, snow from crust to wet to hard, cables out and good help, where no cable, improvise a bit...used crampons, this time put on right time and right place, cause behind "corner" without them would sweat more ...summit in wind but not too bad, views took everything...descent on normal which is real highway...at hut under Peca friendly service, with deserved excellent coffee and of course free sunbathing ...really nice day

Yesterday afternoon from Mitnek via secured to summit. Back via normal to hut and to Mitnek. From Tomaževa hut onwards some sections frozen and slippery, so careful! Secured rocky and dry, protections OK, but full of scree, helmet on! From saddle to top frozen snow, steps well made, no problems. On normal path some spots frozen snow and ice.
