And who knows, is the road to the Jakobe starting point already drivable?

Tomorrow we plan to go to Peca, so I'm curious about the road to the starting point Jakobe? I heard there was a detour from Crna and worse road. Since we're not from around there we wouldn't want to get lost Thanks and LP

Hello! Is the road to Jakobe parking lot drivable the whole way also for a bus of normal size or only for smaller ones? Or better to park lower in the valley? Thanks for the answer and best regards! Krempač

Hello Krempač, just this weekend we drove this path and it's very narrow, precipitous and eroded on some sections, also some sharp hairpins. Personally I wouldn't recommend driving a bus on this path, better to park lower and go on foot, however the path lengthens by ca. 1 hour of walking - first on the gravel road, further you can turn right into the forest on a steep path. Best regards and safe steps, Ksandarela

Luža - Kordeževa glava - Končnikov vrh - Bistriška špica - Luža Since they promised better weather in the east we went looking for it there and found stormy wind, dark clouds, gray mist and also some sun rays. Within one minute it was dark as before a storm, sunny as during a heatwave, windy like when they close the road through Vipava valley, only no rain, thank goodness, we didn't have. Pleasant trip https://tubojan.blogspot.si/2017/09/kordezeva-glava-koncnikov-vrh-bistriska.html

Today on Peca. From Črna gora steep to King Matjaž cave (has new LED lights), then to Mala Peca where there's quite some snow. Then to the top. Snow already melting and slush up to 2000m, further trampled snow, in between also dry parts. Judging by the base it dumped 30 to 40 cm, but it'll melt in a couple days. Winter gear not needed, nor gaiters. Just poles handy. Quite a few visitors, early autumn snow is attraction. Grintovci and Julijci properly snow-covered, especially north sides. Descent down same path, where of course met no one.

If you want to go to Peca through snow, then you must choose the path from Kum. A little below tree line it starts and there's still 20 cm across. Easier from Knipsovo sedlo towards Kordeževa glava from there trampled track. Best regards. Janez
