Peca from Mitnek (03.02.19)

Up to 1550m it rained at night or previous day. From hut onwards already quite nice fresh white base. Some parts wading almost to knees, but nothing extra hard. Last 250 m of elevation some hard crust that held me. At 70+ not sure how it would behavemežikanje. Beautiful weather, on top windless. On return already met some skiers. What skiing was like you can imagine. Visit to Mala Peca and to valley.

FROM KUMER TO PECA.

Nejc and I went to check snow conditions from the south side. Up to about halfway on the path, no thick snow cover, higher up we put on snowshoes and reached Kordeževa glava without problems. Sunny weather appeared on our return to the valley. No strong wind either. Satisfied with the views.

Some photos from yesterday's winter hike to Peca. The path from Mitnek is quite icy and crampons were very useful. More photos and description at https://gorskimoz.wordpress.com/2019/02/10/zimski-pohod-na-peco/

On Friday to Kordeževa glava from Mežica to the top and back. Ice starts right in the first forest from Mežica so microspikes are useful the whole way. Middle part not so icy, from 1800m up more icy again. Friday midday light fog on top, no wind, not too cold. Quite a few visitors too. On the way back met a chamois near Rišperk.

KUMER - KORDEŽEVA GLAVA

In nice sunny weather I set off on the slightly trodden path. Halfway I put on snowshoes and reached the top without trouble. On the same path, to catch my breath, I cleared some obstacles from the windfall. Now this path has no obstacles. Also watched foresters working on the steep slope a bit. Risky work. Cable helps them. Yesterday Peca was quite visited judging by signatures in the book. LP.

Does anyone know how far you can drive with the car? Assuming not quite to the upper parking?

With the car up to the former guard post, nicer road from Črna direction, from Mežica part of the road very icy.
To the last parking currently only with chains.

Here, today four of us sleepless set off at 5:30 from Styria straight to the top nasmeh
The road is so-so, from Črna past the ski area and right up asphalt still OK (here you can see consequences of quite extensive windfall/avalanches? That hit the area), when macadam starts, icy patches begin too.
No one at the lower parking yet, just an indicator that most start the hike from here. Since time was chasing us a bit, we decide to try our luck and drive further.
We got only about 200m to the first hill, where tires due to thick ice layer and morning temp (-9) gave up and we had to put on chains. Then no problems to the top.
The path well trodden all the way, at least microspikes welcome to the hut because high chance of awkward fall.
The hut was closed despite weekend and later very sunny nice day.
Further on the path trodden but frozen, so from here recommend real crampons, although most hikers are content with micros, which I personally don't support, but still better than the guy we met descending, sliding in summer light hiking boots, no aids.
The top is windy, as almost always on Peca the wind was blowing everyone towards the valley who visited this beauty above homeland of our ski champion.
On descent met a couple of people seeking sun rays in heights.
Sun by noon warmed the icy road surface well, so descent drive much easier than ascent.
In short, nice Sunday trip nasmeh
Warm regards

Yesterday up. Topla-Kneps-Končnikov vrh-Kneps-direct up to Velika glava-then back another way to path and also to Kordeževa glava. Return to Kneps and down to Topla. Conditions ideal frozen snow bearing weight, microspikes and gas to summits. Few problems only direct to Velika glava where somewhat drifted and less firm snow, and of course I stubbornly direct through blueberries, because crisis with sinking so I crawled a bitjezik, otherwise ideal for walking. Sun, few clouds, wind for Peca not too much. Path from Topla to first rock mostly bare, few patches in between. From first to second rock more patches, less bare and from second rock up firm snow. Little snow so at those two spots where avalanche usually makes toboggan nothing dangerous to cross. On ridge fairy tale for walking, nice views, not many visitors. Put back the sign on Velika glava, until first real wind.

Today's Peca from Mežica. Some snow starts a bit lower than Dom na Peci. But I'd ask predecessors who were at the top to close all doors and windows next time, because wind was abnormal and moved you a meter easily after 12 hours. That's why return 5-10 min below summit.

I agree, without dialect there is no languagecool
Does this case also go for that principle?
Vuk Karadžić's principle, who said "write as you speak"??

We all in SLO had the same Slovenian language velik nasmeh, so some could also write like that nasmehzavijanje z očmi so that we can all represent them
I agree, we have dialects and they should use them where they talk among themselves
