I've wanted for a long time, but really a long time, to go by the light of the full moon to this wonderful peak that offers fantastic views . Which is also the closest higher peak to me. Sometime in December I expressed the wish, what if we went up at full moon. There were quite a few like-minded people, so I knew that with the right and suitable weather it would happen . Due to illness we went on the path alone. Full of some expectations , and also respect for the mountain, since I haven't walked up at night-after 8pm, especially not in winter conditions . Already at the parking lot in front of the church we knew there would be quite a few visitors...And on such a wonderful evening that's right . Judging by the license plates, they were wandering around here from all Slo. regions, which clearly tells me that Ratitovec is a very desired peak . We went via Razor gor. Soon above the village ice starts, which is hidden under leaves in some places. Yes, need to put on crampons. The next steps are wonderful ...crunching underfoot, walking in the moonlight...unforgettable experience . We meet quite a few descending hikers, all with crampons. Yes, quite a few of those were sold in the hut yesterday, so they went like hot cakes. On the avalanche area we notice some avalanches ...sometimes there was a warning sign here, today there isn't . A bit higher up the views of the valley open to us...Surprisingly no wind, which gives an even better feeling . The path is well trodden, crampons allow a firm step. We meet a large group of hikers from Styria at that bench...Haha, they quite stuffed the hut , so there will be space. On the ridgelet at the second bench it pulls lightly a few times, no frost ...views though...as always magnificent. The hut calls for a visit. Lots of hikers...so many that all the pastries run out , which we missed this time. Tea as always...extremely tasty . Wardens extremely friendly, some are really in constant motion from morning to evening. We exchange a few words, then hop down to the valley...of course with crampons on. If we didn't have them, we'd probably be more on our butts than on our feet again . Again via Razor, then towards the Hunting hut and along the gravel path to the starting point. Towards the Hunting hut it's less icy, but crampons are still strongly recommended. When you experience something new for the first time, you never forget it. And I never will. It was a unique experience, worth repeating . I recommend.
