Today I went from Prtovč to Ratitovec via the right variant, to Razor. The path is trodden and in some places, especially under Razor and then when ascending further to the summit, icy. The upper part is then fine, almost dry, but the recommendation stands: without crampons nowhere!

Wonderful shots of the night sky! In picture 7 the constellation Taurus is rising, in picture 9 you can even see the star cluster Pleiades or Seven Sisters (sometimes called Moses' chariot), which also belongs to that constellation. This constellation also adorns the sky above the church. Beautiful to me!

This morning sunny, foggy and windy. Over Planina Klom, to Vratca and to Gladki vrh. In places still quite snowy and sometimes icy.

Today on Ratitovec sunny, practically no wind, so it was quite (too) warm at the summit and martini drinking in front of the hut was enjoyable. The path over Povden is almost entirely dry, where there is snow it can be nicely bypassed and poses no problems. Completely different on the path through Razor. That one is under Razor and further to the summit quite icy, so microspikes come in handy. If you don't have them, better go over Povden. Today someone used the frozen puddle at the summit and greatly enjoyed skating on it. Actually had skates with him.

As is traditional, I visit Ratitovec for Christmas and this year too, although it was more springlike than Christmassy. There was quite a few visitors, the path is as described in some posts above. Over Povden ok, over Razor quite icy, but there are trodden "bypasses"; still small crampons come in handy. At the summit exceptionally warm, so quite a few of us walked in short sleeves. The hut is open over holidays all the time until 3.1.2016.
