Fog today, and wind too. Path over Razor spring-like, nothing special...

Very nice today, mostly sunny, but near the hut a bit chilly with wind and occasional but not too frequent fog.

Yesterday the weather was nicer than forecast and we used it for a hike from Železniki over Soriska planina to Podbrdo. No rain, only fog in higher elevations prevented views and required more attention to orientation... http://vencelj-sportnik.blogspot.com/2015/05/upt-ogledna-tura-zelezniki-podbrdo.html

I'm curious about the road to Planina Pečana?
One from Bohinj end, the other from Soriska planina.

Soriska planina- Ratitovec- Prtovč, this afternoon. We met no one on the path. Weather perfect for walking, otherwise very changeable: sun, clouds, fog, luckily no rain. Still snow in some hollows, but flowers already delight visitors...

With son we used the holiday day for Ratitovec visit. Up Povden, back Razor. Due to heavy rain in past days path muddy in places, rocks slippery. Many visitors, views impaired by fog and low clouds mrk pogled We spent the day nicely nasmeh

Since I simply didn't feel like driving further in the morning I go to Ratitovec, which due to proximity is always a ready goal. Up through Povden, back via planina Pečana and through Razor, past the hunting hut to the parking lot. On the summit as always good "breakfast", just swapped flancat for ocvirkovca. It was excellent. Temperatures around eight in the morning perfectly ideal, and no wind either. On descent the sun already showing its power again. Plenty of visitors as always.

Evening walk on Ratitovec (Gladki vrh, Altemaver, Kosmati vrh), after 8 years first time put on sneakers for hills over 1500m and I'll stick with gojzarji. Gotta watch all the time where and how you step, slips even before, greater burden for feet and on descent also higher chance of toe/ankle injuries. That's my opinion, overall poorerjezik, and sports sneakers cost quite a bitzadrega.

Sneakers meant for such things (trail models) definitely perform well on Ratitovec. If you went in soccer sneakers though, then I believe you didn't like itvelik nasmeh.

Enka from La Sportiva I have, not exactly sneakers, low hiking footwearmežikanje

Well, good you said the brand so I know what not to buymežikanje. My trail sneakers grip better than all gojzarji and toes suffer much less on descent. Gojzarji beat them of course if you kick a bigger rock, on longer tours they give welcome ankle support. But that Ratitovec would be a problem in any decent low hiking shoes I simply can't believe.

I think it's more that you're not used to walking in such shoes if you've only used gojzarji so far. The feel is just a bit different. As Enka says, on Ratitovec there shouldn't be problems with such shoes and I myself in summer go to Ratitovec in low shoes and have no issues.
Where you step you need to watch even in gojzarji, grip depends more on the sole than height of the shoe.

Last weekend from Vrata via Plemenice to Triglav, and back to valley via Prag. All in low approach shoes (Scarpa Zen Pro). Awesome, no problems, front part allows fairly precise climbing, and over the scree below Begunjski vrh it went pretty good too. Just give them another chance, you'll see you'll get used to it. (unless you're really prone to ankle injuries)
