Today on the trail over Razor there was a nicely made track and ski path. There were quite a few people even though the summit and open hut were in cloud. You can get there from Prtovč or Podlonka, just from the latter the path is a bit less trodden or skied. So go boldly on the trail

Yesterday, 08.03.2018. I drove to Podlonka via Dašnica, left the car at small parking on bend in lower village part, below Lonk. With skis followed track first on meadows then along railway system to path from Lovska koča to Jesenovec. No ski tracks on that path, and quite avalanche exposed. So rather followed footpath first left edge of clearing towards Razor (direct path from Lovska koča to Razor also partly avalanche exposed despite forest). From Razor up windpacked snow right to Vratca then to Kosmati vrh, windy there. Ski back to Vratca nice turns. From Vratca skins again north side past Krekova koča to Gladki vrh.
From there skied east side, first huge slope then through forest bit off track to small notch above Vratca over it to Razor gully slope then approx ascent direction. Bit over forest on path mostly meadows to car at 700m. Untouched Lonk steep tempted (under new snow some old tracks visible), jumped to top of that hill, skied almost dark.
Conditions varied. Path (as followed) fully trodden. Above ~1400m north/forested slopes mostly dry unconsolidated snow, south dry partly crusted. Crust in Razor gully nasty. Lower south-facing snow, sunny sides bit crusted, forest/shade wet unconsolidated. Everywhere (except gully above Razor) nice skiing, even fully tracked north Lonk face. Total ~1200m vert, net skiing (wider skis) more than ok. Not skied out, Golega vrh/Razor area and lower to path only two tracks in recent snow, Podlonka meadows maybe one.

Yesterday was a wonderful day, and it had to be well used. Ratitovec was really a good choice, where a world of untouched whiteness opened towards Altemaver and further to Bohinj mountains. That view especially attracted me, I couldn't take my eyes off that direction.
Otherwise yesterday on Ratitovec paradise for skiers, I saw most of them, seemed fewer walkers. No snowshoers seen.
Summit cold, had to be stubborn to take photos, especially many
Road to Prtovč not fully dry, towards end some snowy spots. Step on snow right at first house.
Really unforgettable day on Ratitovec yesterday, especially ascent towards Altemaver no tracks from predecessors, no ski tracks, just untouched virgin white inviting to go that way. Felt really chosen in that world, like something beautiful gifted to me.

Today to Gladki vrh from Prtovč over Razor. Wonderful. Winter path, nicely passable, descent with crampons. Flanks warm......

Hi! Planning trip to Altemaver this Saturday. Interested, those who were up recently, which path recommend, over Razor or over Povden - re snow amount, slip risk etc. Recommended to put on microspikes if going over Povden? Thanks

Both paths to Ratitovec are passable. There is still snow on both paths. It says on the PD Železniki website.

Please provide information: is it possible to drive by car to Povden saddle and park there? Good 650 m elevation from Prtovč would be a bit too much for our little one.
If yes - from where?

The path to Poden is dry, the footpath further towards Ratitovec in this direction is also dry.

Ratitovec has an automatic weather station, by calling 031712306 you get data on wind speed and direction and air temperature.
Currently it shows an error in operation and the wind speed data is not correct, so it cannot be relied on.

Due to the veterans' world championship in mountain running, on Saturday 2.6.2018 from 7am to 3pm the road Železniki - Prtovč will be closed to all traffic. Organizers ask for understanding and compliance with traffic wardens' instructions.
