Yesterday I went from Ledina bog on Jelovica past planina Klom to Ratitovec. I descended past Altemavr, Kremant and Kačji rob to Soriska planina. There were quite a few people at the hut as usual, but on the way down I didn't meet a single one.

On Friday and Saturday the 5th rally Železniki will take place in Železniki and surroundings, meaning some roads (also Podlonk-Železniki road and road to Prtovč) will be completely closed!

Yesterday on Ratitovec. To Prtovč due to road closure over Podlonk. Ascent over Povden, higher some frozen snow, at the hut and on Gladki vrh windy as usual. Some snow on planina Pečana, on Kosmati vrh just traces. Descent over Razor plain. First part of path icy, lower no snow. More at: http://www.gore-ljudje.net/objava/144258/

Despite today being a cloudy day, strips of clarity opened on the horizon above the peaks creating very special shadows and views.

Ratitovec is always interesting. If you go to it by another path, even more so.
Today we drove another cca 1.3 km above the hunting hut and headed to Ratitovec via path over pl.Klom. But since we somewhat ignored the markers nasmeh

, we bypassed the planina somehow, so we descended to it on the return. We were doing makeup exam nasmeh

To the summit we stepped via ridge path, as it was closest at hand and after longer time it was nice to bite into that steepness again.

We returned past the "mine", so we did circular variant in two parts of the path.

Yes of course, without tasty tea and flancat at the hut this tour doesn't go nasmeh

Path over Razor today quite icy, without crampons very difficult. Better variant currently over Povden.

Repeating mirjamp warning. I was a dummy without crampons, up over Razor still went, down had to go over Vratca. From Razor down still 10 min bob track.

Tomorrow, Friday, looks quite clear so I planned this tour:
Prtovč - Jesenovec - pl. Klom - Kosmati vrh - Vratca - Gladki vrh - Krekova koča - Razor - Prtovč

If anything, on the path between 11 and 16. How's the troddenness and possible current obstacles? If poorly trodden or much postholing, how much snow on sections?

Better just Prtovč - Razor - Kosmati vrh - Krekova koča (and at least Gladki vrh?) - Razor - Prtovč?

To Prtovč from Železniki by car no problem?

I'll start from the back. You can drive by car, but be careful because there is snow on the road in some sections.

If you plan to do the route Prtovč - Jesenovec - pl. Klom - Kosmati vrh - Vratca - Gladki vrh - Krekova koča on skis, that's fine. For hiking it's not trodden, and skiers won't be thrilled if you walk on the track and poke holes in the piste.

The path Prtovč - Razor - Krekova koča is nicely trodden. Kosmati vrh can be an optional addition.

A few more of my pics from yesterday's Ratitovec. As the previous one wrote, trodden track to the top, the track is wet and not icy, lots of snow especially in drifts. velik nasmeh

From Prtovč over Povden to Krekova koča, to Gladki vrh, and also to Altemaver. On return also to obligatory flancat and over Razor and past the hunting hut down. Paths nicely trodden, crampons and gaiters stayed in the backpack.

Yesterday evening on skis to Ratitovec.
At the hunting hut it was lightly snowed anew, to the top the new snow depth in shelter grew to 20cm, on open terrain it was windblown to the old base.
Despite the wind I found shelter and waited for sunset.
When I returned to the hut already in the dark, three more skiers came and with headlamp light we skied down to the hunting hut. nasmeh

On this hill I've been most often competitively, in summer, and it was time to visit it after a long time also snow-covered. Road to Prtovč is dry, but smart to put on microspikes already at the water reservoir, a few tens of meters above the last house where ice starts. Lots of visitors at the hut, almost everyone tries flancat, tasty house specialty. At the top at minus seven degrees it was blowing quite strongly and I only got a few shots.
