Today was the 3rd goal of the "This Year to Triglav" program, Krek's hut on Ratitovec. We started early so there was no crowd on the path or at the hut. Still some snow on the path from Razor plain to the grassy slopes, otherwise no issues with path or weather  could say "flat summer".

On a few spots below the summit there's a little wind-blown snow on the path. But with higher temperatures it will flow to the valley too.

Today for a change to Ratitovec on the "side" path, not the "main road" from Prtovč.
Start from Zg. Danj, across the pasture, past the bunker, along the ridge with wonderful views and flowers to Altemaver and to the hut. Circled back down via Torka and through villages to Zg. Danj. Road between villages about half asphalted.
We followed the path from Danj without trouble, though both of us were here almost for the first time. Overgrown in spots, just watch the markers. We met only a few people, so really recommend it, off the crowds and romantic. At hut of course jam...

I visited Ratitovec yesterday; I must praise the cooks (cookesses?); both paths from Prtovč are OK, on the sunny part over povden (up, when out of the forest, before zajla) there were blueberries.
And lots of people. Otherwise both paths are fine.

Today my wish finally came true - to Ratitovec from Soriska planina along the ridge.
Wonderful day, vast views, solitude, peace...
I met only a couple of mushroom pickers and hikers on the whole trail (except hut and surroundings).
Path varied, well marked, but need to watch out as many animal tracks can mislead you. To hut with all peaks (Žbanjek, Kačji rob, Kremant, Altemaver and Gladki vrh) took good 3 hours, back good 2, just for orientation (not bragging). Only Kosmati vrh missing.
Hope for repeat, say spring when full of flowers...  Recommend!

A bit late but anyway. Yes, it is. A little, but over Razor quite icy. For back to Prtovč better choose over Povden.

On Monday I'm thinking about a hike to Kosmati vrh. What's the snow situation and is there any path safer than others due to avalanches? I'm inexperienced in winter, so I'm inquiring.

Hi, I was on Gladki vrh and at the hut two days ago. Up via Razor, down via Poden. Very little snow, starts higher above Prtovč.
As far as I saw from afar, there's already a trodden path to Kosmati vrh from Razor direction.
Some caution needed on ascent and descent due to a few smooth and icy spots, but crampons stayed in backpack this time. Probably many more such spots on Monday due to heavy traffic these days. More sunny and easier path was via Poden this time.
Good boots mandatory of course, poles and crampons recommended! Saw lots of hikers in low sneakers in snow...
Safe trip and enjoy! Kosmati vrh still awaits me too.

I've long postponed this trip, question if I would have ever gone without the corona discouraging harder paths. One of the nicest so far. Highly recommend.
Paths very well marked too, only exception descent from Kosmati vrh to Razor, more markings there wouldn't hurt.
