Yesterday along the ridge to Ratitovec from Soriska planina. There were quite a few of us on this path, but most visitors were of course around Altemaver, Gladki vrh and the hut, of course.
Tip: outside the hut there's a longer queue for ordering than inside. We got served right away. velik nasmeh

Cows (below the hut) and horses (Žbajnek) already enjoying the pasture ...
Another tip: wild thyme is blooming abundantly on the ridge these days, mostly around Kremant, I picked some for tea.

Soriska peč-Žbanjek-Ovharn-Kremant-Altemaver-hut, on the way back also Rehtarjev grič, yesterday 06.07.

I've been wanting for some time to check out the new names of peaks, new wooden signs and the new hill on this path. When georgia mentioned horses and herbs on the path, the decision ripened in a moment.

We started out at half past five in the morning and it paid off several times. Chamois along the path soon after the hunting hut, singing of various birds, intoxicating scents of flowers and herbs, wonderful morning views from Žbanjek (unmarked peak along the marked path), horse pasture on Kremant which you mustn't miss. On the whole path, except the hut, we met only three hikers on Altemaver, otherwise no one, not even on the way back. The world was so beautiful yesterday that you could return to it and miss nothing.

I must also praise the new wooden signs on some peaks of this path, like Ovharn, which replaced the name Kačji rob. Probably a restoration of the old name. Really beautiful!

We didn't see any edelweiss though, maybe they were still closed? We still need to find Rehtarjev grič.

Group of 31 hikers, on Saturday we chose the path from Soriska planina to Kačji rob, Kremant, Altemaver, Gladki vrh. Stop at Krekova hut on Ratitovec, where under Lojz's guidance everything runs excellently. Stews super, as well as homemade bread, cracklings, flancati, all praise to the team. We descended towards the former iron ore mine, after which Železniki got its name. The goal was descent to Železniki. Zagorka led us along one of the paths past the boulder, unmarked, past the Hunting hut, above Podlonek. We stopped also at the 706 m high peak Hujska above Železniki. Total 700 m ascent, 1,200 m descent, 23 km. We went by bus from Ljubljana to Škofja Loka and Soriska planina, pensioners free with card, others discounted, extremely favorable. Special thanks to driver Slavc who drove us from Ljubljana and notified the driver in Loka to wait for us. Caution needed here, as one would expect the driver always waits for the bus from Ljubljana, but apparently not... We also saw roses, edelweiss, unfortunately no sun as expected. Otherwise interesting tour, for some maybe a bit long.

Today from Prtovč over Povdna gora, past Razor down. Path without features, but it seems to me that past Razor it's quite eroded in spots, exposed like I remember from a few years ago... zavijanje z očmi

Weather gorgeous, views solid 4, as Julijci above ca 2275m weren't visible anymore. Tosc was my base, just peeking from the haze. Rest all visible as on a plate!

Yesterday we went a bit differently, namely up the path from Zabrdo under Ratitovec walls, back over the highest peak of Altemaver and down to Zgornje Danje. Then along the road to the car. In between we admired renovated old houses in Zabrdo village, where Boštjanova house stood out especially in beauty. It really captivated me, couldn't look enough.

On the ascent we met no one, on the descent a couple of hikers, so it didn't surprise us to find blueberries along the path under Kremant and spot even two chamois. Well, blueberries let themselves be photographed, chamois not nasmeh

. Great tour, despite morning cloudy weather. Next time again differently, already decided nasmeh

Today in really wonderful weather again on the hunting path under Ratitovec walls to Gladki vrh and from there admiring peaks in near and far surroundings, which was really exceptional today. Of course without flancat at the hut it didn't go today either. At parking lot figuring out exact path course in the view offered from there. Gorgeous day!

Ločanka, today for a change I was in your neck of the woods. Ratitovec really is a nice viewpoint. Revived some memories a bit where we roamed during JNA service time.
Stayed without flancat though, because I didn't feel like queuing.
Also about parking at Prtovč, here too pay via Easy Park. Cheap, 2 euros 24h. Some got "notice" from warden service!

Great you decided for this peak. You botched it only because you didn't wait for flancat. So you'll have to go up again! Ratitovec really beautiful at all times of day and all seasons. And right peak for all life stages nasmeh

Today divine views and sun over sea of fog and thus lots of visitors too.

We usually go straight to hut, don't queue outside (today e.g. strong wind) and get served at table sooner. Worth waiting! nasmeh

Today noticed many warden notices too, so pay parking, SMS suffices (for those without smartphone), instructions on sign. Otherwise warden today too eager, left greetings to all parked by road before (!) no parking sign, one even a couple km lower. eek
