oooooh, I really totally messed up. But google shows bullfinch with black eyes. Ours had yellow....that's already a topic for the birds section, so no one gets mad velik nasmeh

Today for good morning to Ratitovec. Up via Razor. Path b. p. - of course with crampons. Down via Povden. Some traverses nicely filled with hard snow, so I used the ice axe.

Does anyone know what the conditions are like this weekend? Are crampons needed or can it be done with microspikes?

For winter ascent to Ratitovec via marked paths you rarely need real 12-point crampons. That happens maybe a few times a year during heavy verglas, not every year. But microspikes and poles come in handy. The path is very popular and accordingly trampled - smoothed out. Usual winter ascent goes via Razor, because path via Poden is more avalanche exposed, and above treeline slide risk on slope is greater anyway. Via Razor practically none. Below in forest there's section crossed by avalanche, but usually soon after snowfall or spring when warms and snow slides right "to bedrock". It's marked. Currently no serious danger there.
At moment fog on top, but should clear up ;-)

Today on Ratitovec, as Nejc already wrote, it's recommended to have small crampons and hiking poles. At certain places it's very slippery.

When you smell flancati you know where to go, to Krek's hut on Ratitovec. Path over Razor without peculiarities, quite icy in some parts so crampons recommended. Nice weather, a bit windy, but that's classic for Ratitovec. Lots of visitors and thanks to the owner of the doberman, who was tied at the corner of the hut, no one dared to sit on the benches jezik

But this with dogs is something new. Today also on Kriška gora at the hut. Then also at the hut on Gozd. I got the feeling that now everyone can walk on the benches. I like dogs, but a dog on the bench and then licking the table a bit is the limit.

Here you have the path I walked past Jesenovec from Prtovč start. Conditions were wintery, so I used appropriate gear.

Nothing better than escaping from foggy valley to sunny Ratitovec. At the top no wind, really warm in front of the hut, and as icing on the cake flancat which has no equal around. Beautiful views on the way, could walk up and down without crampons.
