There comes a day when you don't know where to head, so I decide for Kriške pode and Razor.
Nice morning in Zadnjica promised a nice day, but somehow my step didn't pick up on the otherwise nice path to Pogačnikov dom. After 2 h I finally arrive in front of the hut, greeted friendly by warden Polona, another girl outside wants to sell me something, so I couldn't resist one blueberry schnapps. I sit a bit more, we talk about the weather, which apparently isn't good, and about the snow that still persists in the mountains, so there aren't many visitors. Then I set off, I knew there had been a rock fall in Razor some time ago, since at the beginning of the month from Triglav I saw a long brown streak across the central snowfields under Razor, but I couldn't have imagined such devastation there. After overcoming the first rock steps and reaching the central part under the saddle between Planja and Razor, I am met with total devastation, which is of course mostly on the path area, variously sized rocks and large quantities of scree have completely buried the marked path in places. From the saddle I continue towards Razor, there of course are extensive snowfields, so I help myself with appropriate equipment. When I reach the place where the path runs under some kind of cavity, everything is buried partly with snow, partly with scree, there is practically no path, I cross as cautiously as possible. The continuation is across the snowfield, higher up, where the path turns west and crosses the south slopes of Razor there are no special features on the old fall, but already after less than 50 meters to the west I encounter a fresh rock fall, the path over about 20 meters is completely buried or gone, and above it an extensive fall area. I also cross this place extremely cautiously and ascend towards the summit, already on the summit ridge itself I see that a large part of the south slope has collapsed, right above the fall more rock debris and scree are waiting to fly into the depths. About the fall I immediately inform the responsible people at PZS from the summit, as well as Polona at the hut, and descend cautiously. Given the situation under Razor, visiting Razor is completely advised against, as due to the unstable terrain there is a high risk of falling rocks, which can be deadly.
