I'm also interested, but I'm going on Sunday because I think Saturday won't be safe yet.

There is 15 cm of snow on Kredarica, but it's melting, at least it looks like it on the webcam and from my home window.

Hi!
First-hand info for Razor: some snow (patches) which is melting and the forecast for tomorrow and Sunday will clear it, if it's not too cold tonight.
So tomorrow the wife and I are going up, good firm steps to all.

Best

Will report tomorrow evening

Yesterday morning in Vrata +2 degrees Celsius. Ah, soon I'll be higher, I tell myself, and head to Luknja. But as if I didn't know, "colorful" weather awaits me there again with low temperature, fog and wind (classic, I tell myselfnasmeh). And I forgot my gloves at home...zavijanje z očminasmeh. All that lasted up to about 2000m, while I was already diligently climbing towards B. Gamsovec. On the summit I warmed up a bit in the sun, then started descending towards K. Podi. As I. Zlodej already said in another thread, the north sides are snow-dusted and frozen too... Gamsovec is no exception, so caution is needed. I continued to Pogačnikov dom and on to Razor, which was very solitary yesterday and much more pristine than usual... Total peace, solitude and silence, occasionally broken only by some engine sounds from the Vršič road in the distance... Those few "climbing" meters on the north side below the Razor summit are also a bit frozen and "snow-dusted", but nothing worse... Filled with all that positive energy, I descend back to the hut and then late afternoon via Sovatna back to Vrata. Lp!

@urbancek: any snow on the path to Razor from Pogačnikov dom up?

@sandra: Those few meters on the north side require caution when scrambling over frozen parts, but at least for me it didn't cause major problems and I think it's nothing serious. Some parts of the rocks are dry, so there was something to hold on to...nasmeh. Best regards and good luck!

Just below the summit you have to watch out not to be misled by old markings if you miss the new ones. In poor conditions be cautious.

From Vršič towards Razor is an excellent path. Some places are snowy, so caution isn't superfluous. The predecessors said everything else, just careful on the scree and good luck!

I've wanted to conquer it for a long time and on 15.9.2012 I finally succeeded. Forecast nice sunny weekend so Saturday morning from Aljažev dom via Sovatna we headed to Kriški podi and later to Razor. Descended to first junction and turned left to Križ and later under Stenar to Sovatna and to bivouac under Luknja. Conditions more than ideal, only one section between Pogačnikov dom and Križ quite snowy and risky if there should be a slip.
Anyway, you can view photos on the following website M-foto.si

For info, on the FB page I spotted:
'!WARNING! We advise against ascent to Razor:
We inform you about a new ROCK fall right under the RAZOR summit! As mountain rescuer Igor Zlodej told us, there was again a rock fall right under Razor summit on the south side, about 50m aside from the previous fall. Passage is practically impossible, full of scree and rocks and very dangerous. WE ADVISE AGAINST ascent to Razor. Pass it on!
Also the passage to Planja saddle towards Mlinarica is difficult, due to lots of accumulated/fallen scree there is big danger.
More to follow soon - also with photographs.'

There comes a day when you don't know where to head, so I decide for Kriške pode and Razor.

Nice morning in Zadnjica promised a nice day, but somehow my step didn't pick up on the otherwise nice path to Pogačnikov dom. After 2 h I finally arrive in front of the hut, greeted friendly by warden Polona, another girl outside wants to sell me something, so I couldn't resist one blueberry schnapps. I sit a bit more, we talk about the weather, which apparently isn't good, and about the snow that still persists in the mountains, so there aren't many visitors. Then I set off, I knew there had been a rock fall in Razor some time ago, since at the beginning of the month from Triglav I saw a long brown streak across the central snowfields under Razor, but I couldn't have imagined such devastation there. After overcoming the first rock steps and reaching the central part under the saddle between Planja and Razor, I am met with total devastation, which is of course mostly on the path area, variously sized rocks and large quantities of scree have completely buried the marked path in places. From the saddle I continue towards Razor, there of course are extensive snowfields, so I help myself with appropriate equipment. When I reach the place where the path runs under some kind of cavity, everything is buried partly with snow, partly with scree, there is practically no path, I cross as cautiously as possible. The continuation is across the snowfield, higher up, where the path turns west and crosses the south slopes of Razor there are no special features on the old fall, but already after less than 50 meters to the west I encounter a fresh rock fall, the path over about 20 meters is completely buried or gone, and above it an extensive fall area. I also cross this place extremely cautiously and ascend towards the summit, already on the summit ridge itself I see that a large part of the south slope has collapsed, right above the fall more rock debris and scree are waiting to fly into the depths. About the fall I immediately inform the responsible people at PZS from the summit, as well as Polona at the hut, and descend cautiously. Given the situation under Razor, visiting Razor is completely advised against, as due to the unstable terrain there is a high risk of falling rocks, which can be deadly.
quite a lot of rocks and scree already in the central part of the path1
landslide from above2
just waiting to fall down on the path3
everything is very loose4
that it was a large landslide is shown by the material that buried several 100 m2 of snowfield below on the floors5
but Razor is a very prominent mountain6

Hello, in mid-July I planned an ascent to Razor, but a rockfall happened at Planina Planja. Now I wonder what you think about when the path will reopen. Thanks for all replies.

I'm most interested in how now that the path is closed there's suddenly so much interest in this mountain... ideas about off-trail routes are popping up too... zmeden

I'm really curious how many visits to the mountain there were up to last week?!?

The path is closed and will probably stay that way for a while!
The mountain won't run away from us, we'll just have to go elsewhere, but it'll be just as nice everywhere...

No interest, just a question. But it's like Prisank when Hanzova was closed due to rockfall and other paths were open.
