Indeed, on Saturday bad forecast and even at 9:30 parking was available up at the ramp (they weren't directing to the streambed). On Sunday when the sunshine showed up, the picture was completely different - cars one after another on the road, tourists parked wherever possible (not allowed  ).

Yesterday morning, at an early hour, in Mojstrana the info was that Vrata was already full and to use the bus. We drove further because we really didn't believe it for that day. In Vrata, on the main parking area, maybe 1/4 of the parking spots were occupied. Paid 6€ and off to adventures.

I had a similar experience yesterday too. The sign that parking was full was on both before 6am and 1pm, but space was available both times. At least in this setup the sign is counterproductive - no matter what it says, obviously worth checking if there's space in Vrata ... Currently better if it wasn't there at all.

Collecting parking fees in Vrata is a weird (private) Slovenian story. Whoever paid it should check who issues the receipt! It's MOUNTAIN ASSOCIATION MOJSTRANA. Yes, the assoc. co-owns the plot by the road and big shots in assoc. and municipality happily exploit it, how it's legal others will hopefully deal with! I won't pay parking anymore, let them sue me, we'll see who's honest here and manipulates people and state. PD Mojstrana charges parking and invites you to hut for drink or snack, as they're poor anyway, need help. I won't enter that hut ever again. Such Gorenjska honesty! Nice hiking regards Tone.

Not only in Vrata, such a practice is spreading to all trailheads where we hike. Unbelievable how much money has been collected over decades, practically nothing done.

With that sign saying use bus, something's obviously wrong buses ran till 4.9. And it has been said several times in this thread at what occupancy down there it shows full. So no problem, drive to check if parking really full or not

A nice guy from the mountaineering association Dovje-Mojstrana called me and was surprised at my disappointment about the happenings in Vrata. He explained things that are sadly not publicly explained (or not in a way that more people are informed). If really not all things are as black as they seemed to me (and not only to me), time will show, and we'll see if things go in the right direction to the satisfaction of all who go there. Let them close the road to Vrata and make a free parking as an option too, so we won't have the feeling that money is the only driving force of the world. It is promised that in Mojstrana on the north side this will also be realized; if it will be, we'll see! And nice mountaineering greetings to all!

Before the last snowfall it was normally drivable to Poldov rov. From there onwards the road was icy. Otherwise the road from Peričnik onwards is closed to traffic.

The road wasn't plowed and, as far as is known, probably never will be, even in the future. Probably hard for some to understand.
