This reminds me of a scene from Morocco...flat nice road, police patrol comes, sets up 40 sign and radar. Absurd, but "legal basis" for collecting fines. Well...I think it's often like that here...

They're quietly preparing us for the fact that driving to Vrata will be only for the chosen ones mežikanje

If the prohibition sign is placed a bit further from Peričnik then you risk a fine from TNP... and there have been quite active rangers lately. At Peričnik you have to pay for parking.

Ha, I think it's still safer in Krma. The road has so many potholes that they would deter rangers from further driving.jezik

That doesn't stop the local ranger. He'll just go with a tractor, anyway, during working hours he does forestry work, and along the way he'll help so that mountain visitors contribute to the budget.

Is the road to Vrata still closed, and what are the actual driving conditions?

Silvo, on www.promet.si there's nothing more written about the winter closure. So I conclude it's open.

The Road Directorate should be responsible and not TNP.

Will it be allowed to drive to Vrata valley with cars this year? Somewhere I read that only buses will run and they've arranged parking in Mojstrana. Probably paid?

For now, yes nasmeh But the road is state-owned. And the state, although sometimes it makes some very strange decisions, is usually still a bit smarter than various municipal sheriffs...

But they will be happy in Aljažev dom when they have less income. Foreigners will carry it, in case the road closes to cars

To me this regular bus thing seems really fine, at least I won't have to drive from LJ at four to get parking in Vrata, but I'll go nicely by bus, and the problem is solved. nasmeh
And no need to pay the damn 20 euros for road use.

Yes, fine. Such a cheap mountain trip really not.
Ljubljana - Jesenice free train or bus. Jesenice - Mojstrana bus also free and maybe to Vrata free too (in all cases I use the red card for free travel)...

You'll just make it to Luknja. Then you'll have to turn back to catch public transport back to Ljubljana on time. Unless you're a kaveljc-pensioner. Then you'll get a bit further.nasmeh
If you started from Maribor, you'd stay just on public transport. No mountain trip. Oh, you'd have a view of the mountains for a while. How was that said, you won't have anything, but you'll be satisfied!?

The timetable is adjusted for "tourists and kaveljci", which is ultimately understandable. Those "kaveljci" who can't get to the top and back in 11 hours will just have to plan a two-day trip. We're Styrians used to early starts anyway.
Some solution is there after all.
