At 4.00 already in Vrata? Still enough time if you leave Maribor then. But I'm really curious, since I see many early ones here, how they'll cram you into that van at 4 a.m. I don't know why you'd take the bus to Vrata in the morning if you pay 19 euros in Mojstrana, 25 in Vrata.

Aljažev dom, Staničev dom, Kredarica, Planika, Dolič, Pogačnikov dom. All starting from Vrata. All under PZS umbrella. Regarding traffic calming from PZS side just this little notice on their website: https://www.pzs.si/novice.php?pid=17136 They should look across the border how the umbrella organization there (say OEAV) makes an effort on similar projects.

I'd expect active solving of mountaineers' problems by PZS on parking fees they're charging in valleys lately (Jezersko, Vrata). Mountaineers have never been a problem for crowds, since by 7-8 when we're all high in mountains there is no congestion anywhere. Every year I pay PZS membership though I use no benefits, but till now it seemed right to support mountaineering org that way. Next year those few tens of euros from fee will go to parking instead.

Active solving of parking problems is happening here, not at PZS

Judging by that notice it seems PZS still supports attack on its members by insatiable local sheriffs...which I'm not surprised at all. As active mountain guide I can say there was always most harassment and obstacles from PZS. Interestingly never from "competition" (GV guides, tourist guides...). Even at ministry they are much more practical and far less bureaucratized than PZS.

@logar1007, I fully agree with everything written... hahah, but what you wrote won't hold: "Mountaineers have never been a problem for crowds, since by 7-8 when we are all already high in the mountains there is no congestion anywhere." Just last year, when they started preparing the ground for this new toll in Vrata, the following article was published: https://www.rtvslo.si/zabava-in-slog/ture-avanture/tudi-to-poletje-ljudje-parkirali-vsepovrek-zato-v-vratih-ze-postavljajo-zapornico/681295 where a local gentleman complained: "residents of Triglavska Street can't sleep from 3 or 4 a.m., because speed races are taking place to see who will be first in Vrata" So... besides "nature protection", not only late tourists are a thorn in their side, but we all bother the poor wretches... even with morning "speed races"

Now the authorities by force, with price hikes, try to make order, but I hope it will soon backfire with poor visits and loss of traffic in huts. Many would gladly leave some euros, but not at the expense of extortion.

Parking 3 days Vrata 75€, 60€ Blato,... Our mountains will soon become inaccessible for us. Local communities obviously support mass tourism - for quick profit and at the same time destroy local belonging - who cares for mountain paths, especially now when disasters are more frequent...? Locals or foreign guests? It is right that there is order, that charges are made, nothing is free, but they could really use a bit more sense in such projects...

As klace wrote, who maintains mountain paths? Volunteer markers PZS. And what does PZS do so that something is done for PZS members? Nothing! Best to abolish maintenance of mountain paths, then let local sheriffs arrange paths for their interests themselves.

Then is the only option paying 25 EUR for daily parking or parking in Mojstrana and departure with the first bus at 4 a.m.? What about those who have a full-day tour planned and it's smart to start at the trailhead even before 4:30? In what way is the payment of the parking fee in Vrata arranged (EasyPark or are parking meters set up around the parking lot?

Isn't it like at Planina Blato? You get a ticket at the ramp and pay when leaving?

"How is the parking payment arranged in Vrata (EasyPark or are there parking meters set up around the parking lot?" Both are there, but the parking meter sometimes doesn't work (and doesn't accept cash), with EasyPark the problem is the signal is very weak there, plus it takes a usurious commission (2.8 EUR for one day).

So if I understand correctly, you have to pay for parking in Mojstrana at P+R 19 EUR, then the bus to Vrata is free?

Don't call the devil, lest someone else thinks of allowing free bus use to Vrata only to those parking for 10 € in Mojstrana

I'm thinking maybe it's better to park at Fabrka lot for 5€ a day and walk to Mercator where the Vrata bus stops... Otherwise really absurd what they do with these crazy prices. It'll only go up anyway, even if hut visits drop - which won't, as long as flip-flop tourists rush Triglav.
