In Turski žleb the snow stays much longer into spring, so be careful.

I'm interested in how it is if you go from Skuta further to Rinke, time-wise and markings-wise. Thanks.

Yesterday to Skuta via Žmavcarji. Under the climbing part there are still two snow patches, but nothing special. Continued to Štruca and then via Dolgi hrbet towards Kokrško sedlo. No issues on the way, no snow, fixed protections OK. The only problem was the heat. Need to start even earlier in the morning. We started at 6am at the cargo cableway. Best A and J

Today to Skuta via Žmavcarji. Weather ideal for hiking but no views. Before entering the wall still two snow patches but footprints are well trodden so with a bit of care crossing is no problem. Quite some people at the top. From Koroška Rinka to Ojstrica all in fog. Descended past Cojzova koča, all dry here too and no issues. best

Tomorrow I plan to go to Skuta. But I can't decide about the weather. Arso says the following: Forecast for the mountain world: Tomorrow mostly clear, during the day some cumulus clouds will form. Southwest wind blowing. Temperature at 1500 m around 20, at 2500 m around 14 degrees C. Pictograms on hribi.net predict rain. What do you say?

This weather on hribi.net is not quite reliable. Look at this instead, it's quite accurate: http://vreme.zurnal24.si/prosti-cas/gore/skuta/ or on ARSO

Come on, the weather is super sunny until Wednesday 100% in the mountains

Weather from Monday on is at least a bit unstable. Currently they say smaller chance on Monday, larger on Tuesday for thunderstorms. If you call this "super sunny", you have different definitions of sunniness than me.

On Tuesday, 03.07.2012, we headed from Logar Valley via Turski Žleb to Skuta and reached it in a good 3.5 hours. The gully is completely dry, and the rest of the path is also dry; the two snowfields below the Skuta wall are well trodden and do not pose a greater danger.

Today, after uncertain morning weather, I still went to Skuta. Start from Ravenska Kočna via Mlinarsko Sedlo. On the summit, sun and strong wind awaited me. Return through Turski Žleb and then via Savinjsko Sedlo to Ledine. And a warning. There was a police ambush at the parking lot - they were waiting for those who drove past the no-driving sign (vehicles that were parked at the cargo cableway).

Quite right, some order must be , especially if someone bothers to make a nice parking lot, then some Sunday casual tie-guys can't walk those 200m in fresh air.

Finally, this must become standard, not just one control and end... Also regarding wild camping nothing done, last time in Vrata full, in Kot Hungarians almost in the middle of the road with all trash... Don't even talk about bivouac control or at least newer ones (under Grintovec, pardon ), which various Czechs occupy like home... They don't tolerate that abroad for long... Same on the road, police should be CONSTANTLY PHYSICALLY on or by the road, drive up and down and monitor what's happening, not ambushes here and there, then stop those with "bugs"; to various livestock they usually turn a blind eye (the opposite would be logical and sensible, if police had some fair sense and occasionally did something by common sense...) But that's again a topic for Slovenia - Banana republic...

This year I haven't been by car to the cableway in Ravenska Kočna yet; I'm interested in how parking is - where one can park, how far it is to the cableway to Ledine or Češka Koča. I'm also interested in parking in Zadnjica - at the ramp or by the road?

Really praiseworthy that they arranged parking at Jezersko, the parking lot is HUGE, one more pic where approximately this parking lot is located, so 1km walk along the road.

Yeah, they fixed up the parking lot nicely. It's really huge, so if you're early, it's empty like a salad plate. The path to the cargo cableway is just right to warm up a bit and loosen up for the trail ahead to Vadina or Češka koča. That the cops are from the parking lot onwards checking "spoiled brats", I fully agree. Some order has to be, no. Unless you've got too small a wallet and just head up

I agree with urbancek here. If each of us called the police and reported illegal activity in TNP, they might already have enough, and something might move. Igor, what do you say?

I'm not sure the police were writing fines, no car had anything on the wipers. They were there though because apparently thieves are lurking around, many a hiker is so "bright" that they don't even lock the car, I saw it with my own eyes, since the two cops were trying which car was unlocked.

Well, obviously something must have attracted them already... Did you have something in the car, some bag, jacket etc... I doubt your car was completely empty... Anyway, if the topic escalates more, it should be moved to some other, preferably existing thread on criminality topic...
