Verses from Prešeren's Zdravljica about the sun's walk and gift from above with full baskets of snow have finally come true.
Today two more skied down from Svečica while I was just on Struška. Day was exceptional, such light breeze, and special powder I haven't been on for ages.

mode. Also road turnoff to Javorniški Rovt at Koroška Bela closed, detour via Jesenice upper road over Javornik.

Yesterday sun only before Belska planina. Skiing twice from Struška summit on sun-warmed and good skiable snow. More at: http://www.gore-ljudje.net/novosti/125558/

Majdag, beautiful pics. How deep is the ditch at Pusti rovt? We have low car, could it be a problem. Otherwise from Križevci. Thanks for reply. Keep delighting us with nice pics nasmeh

.. BrankaM worth checking if they are not also parked before Rovt on the road. A bit of zig-zag driving so the ditch is in the middle, many get through.

I just remembered my youth, when public transport was the only option and there were no cars at home. Different times...
So only nice memories of train and bus rides remain, although no one forbids us to use public transport today either, the problem is we don't have the patience because it's too much time loss compared to the schedule of public carriers. nasmeh

...Along the old border path to Veliki vrh Struške. The path is a bit steep but always pleasant. On the slope below the container, gentians are blooming. On the grassy terrace of the summit, among other flowers, cowslips stand out. nasmeh

Left the car almost at Križovec (the road is passable if you have a slightly higher car or chains plus a shovel). Otherwise it was no problem to Belska planina along the road for both hikers and ski tourers. The last summit part sinks in for the hiker up to the waist in places (thanks to the predecessor who made the track!). Otherwise Struška was a pleasant goal for yesterday nasmeh

Well, "opened" the season of the mobile "hotel" and yeah, how nice to wake up in the car, frozen windows, temp about -4, which isn't to peek out of the sleeping bag eek

, but when "daddy" Triglav smiles sunlit, everything is easier mežikanje

...the day promised and yeah, pure winter debauchery happened somewhere higher...we drive to Javorniški Rovt, to the Pristava hut, where we already count steps to our junction and already puffing up the slope that ends at planina Pusti Rovt. From there continue to the Kočna saddle and here the track ends. The steep part to the ridge blown out, so no sinking, which doesn't mean there wasn't later velik nasmeh

. Original plan was to go along the ridge edge, but snow blown with cornices, so we tackle the regular path that goes across to planina Svečica. Hahaha, that's perseverance I tell you...at the start, since there were only one pair of snowshoes, I had the privilege to use them, but soon "gave the privilege" to the "older" companion velik nasmeh

and did exercises myself on how to get out of snow and sink as little as possible, ehhe, so the path is trampled, but will need more feet to firm it up jezik

Short break at Belska planina and already towards Struška summit, where it went without skis or snowshoes, not to mention the views accompanying you, since Struška summit is a 360 degree panorama and yeah, you could see everything and sighs had no end, hehe. Looong stop at the top, then descent past the planina, and along the road through pl. Pusti Rovt and again along the road (it's more elegant, mežikanje

) to the start.
Perfect day and don't need more nasmeh

, but in 3 days everything will be different and the track made with perseverance and lots of laughter will disappear, but legs will feel it for a while, hahaaa

Today I did a circular tour Rovte - Marklova - road towards Suha - along the road to Svečica - Struska - descent to Pusti Rovt - Križovec - Španov vrh - Rovte. Real winter idyll, from the end of the sled run I trampled to the road to Suha saddle, towards Svečica ski tracks and snowshoe tracks, same to the summit. Quite a lot of snow, the most this winter, so snowshoes were very useful. Without them probably wouldn't go. With proper gear this is a tour I highly recommend now - not steep, path trampled, no avalanche danger.
