Yesterday there were very few people on Svečica and the wind was blowing quite well. The spring flowers are currently finishing their blooming, some can still be seen, so hurry with your visit.

Exactly Franci, such nice decoration won't last long. But there is also some "eternal" decoration to be found. It was super. nasmeh

Yesterday I was on Belska planina, it was pleasantly warm, some sun, some clouds, quite a few hikers too.
I intended to go to Struska, but didn't know where mrk pogled
I did ask some people who were up there, they said I could get lost quickly. I went on the path a bit higher and right of the hut towards east, the path runs between bushes and nice view downwards. At the Trilobit view I turned back because I had no idea where I was going mrk pogled Probably I'd need company of someone who knows the path.

But drawing a line, the morning up there was nice nasmeh

You could go from the hut onwards to planina Seča...there are Austrian signs for Struska (yellow signpost) right upwards...but the path is through dense bushes and quite steep

I was also on Struska for the first time today. And I also didn't know where to go from the hut because nothing is marked. So I went eastwards on the trail leading to planina Seča. After about ten minutes I turned left and via a small gully reached the summit from the other side. On the top I then found the right path back. Judging by your first picture viharnica, you were on the right path. Below the little trail is poorly visible, higher in the bushes much better. Otherwise just upwards, as in good weather you can't get too lost because the summit isn't farnasmeh
And one annoying thing that happened to me for the first time today. A bit above the hut a swarm of flies stuck to me, following me all the way to the top and part of the way back. There were hundreds and they annoyingly pressed into my head. No measure helped, neither running, nor waving sticks, nor cursing, nor praying...velik nasmehzmeden

It's really annoying to the top of Struška through that scrub if you don't know the path. I prefer to go in winter when everything is covered in white. Of course it has to be firm, otherwise you're quickly back in the scrub velik nasmeh
Dragon, I've experienced that with flies too. They stick to sweat, nothing you can do.

Ha,ha, good advice. I lean more towards spray, but I'm afraid for such a swarm I'd need a fire extinguisher, which is a bit too big for the backpackvelik nasmeh

Chico, I also thought of sweat, so I took off my shirt, used a liter of water for showering, put on a clean shirt, went on, flies following me velik nasmeh

Well yeah, but it would probably really be better to have someone alongside who knows the path. Unfortunately that day there was no one going up to join them or at least go behind him velik nasmeh.
Otherwise I had the same shit with a swarm of flies, but I waved a stick to chase them away velik nasmeh

viharnica, from the hut to the summit it's not too difficult, as it's also noted in the descriptions how and what.. e.g.:

On Saturday we did a circular hike: Trilobit - Medji dol - Seča - Struška - Belska planina - Pusti rovt. Flowers are still plentiful, though narcissi are slowly departing, similarly crocuses. There weren't that many flies either nasmeh

On Saturday I went past Belska planina to Struška summit, this time I found the path to the top though I didn't exactly know where I was going nasmeh
From the hut on the planina to the summit I took about 40 min. First I spotted a rock with a box, then a container. The cross from the picture wasn't there.
At the summit it was whistling, quite cold, suddenly fog started appearing from somewhere, so I better headed back to the planina not to get lost.
To the planina I descended near Mocile.
Nice hike, fun tour, not demanding at all, so I recommend it to everyone who hasn't been up there nasmeh

STRUŠKA - (Zijalke - Veliki vrh - Korenščica), circular from forest road behind Strmelo up to Belska planina and back via Pusti Rovt

Usual road (Cesta v Rovte) to Javorniški rovt closed last weekend at Slovenski Javornik, so detour to Jesenice (via Cesta Toneta Tomšiča), thus due to delay drove a bit higher towards Križevec and parked at junction to dead-end road to Strmelo (map name) or footpath to Pusti rovt. Forest road above Dom Pristava and below Križovec icy in shady parts at a few spots, otherwise passable.
Above last »weekend or holiday cottage« by dead-end to Strmelo find steep track to Belska planina, then nice panoramic path winding in switchbacks through increasingly scenic forest leads below hut on large pasture Belska planina. Struška is relatively elongated wide ridge above, from east peak Zijalke (1865m), over Veliki vrh (1944m) to Korenščica (1764m) takes some 1.5 hours, but since path not usually marked, gets lost several times in the dry among scrub, need to find best passages, time extends quickly.
If going from planina only to highest Veliki vrh no such problems (path traceable) and same if from hut on Belska planina down forest road (currently icy sections above) and below saddle Kočna turn via Pusti Rovt back to start. Some 100m snowy icy road also below hut in Pusti Rovt, so can't drive there with normal 2WD car.
at the starting point above Javorniški Rovt1

approx 2 km along the dead-end forest road towards Strmelo3
behind this vikendom we look for the cart track in the forest that leads to Belska planina4
... if you missed it, this forest road ends after about 500 m5
at the beginning initially steep cart track6
... then it levels out into a pleasant, scenic and nicely traceable trail7
views towards Triglav and Škrlatica8
views into the valley and towards Javorniški Rovt9

Struška is not marked, so in the brush among the scrub one sometimes has to search for the right path12

the forest road from Belska planina downhill is icy in shaded sections at several places16

At the Dom na Pristavi we stop, as we notice Santa Claus.18

Today on Struška. There is little snow and it is no major obstacle, except on the summit it is quite icy. But today there were very nice views. Road to Križevci is icy in the last part, caution needed. Nice greetings.

Just now skinning up on skis to Pl. Svečica, snow so deep poles sink halfway, new above 1600 around 65cm, wet-dry and powdery, on south slightly wind-compressed firm, no crust, on ground couple cm southern frozen, no avalanche danger here, no tracks from ahead on the route, lp!
