To the mountains with a dog?!

But something is true ... On this forum from the second half onwards only one dog hater appears ... and not only dogs, also people who have dogs (if not all people?). Look at his writing style and it'll be clear to you. So - don't get upset anymore and don't despair, volunteers and understanding ones are still here; those with a dog and also those without.

nice daynasmeh

There was a law that any hunter seeing a loose dog 50 meters (fifty) from its owner could shoot that dog (regardless of breed) without warning, of course dead, and the hunter didn't have to justify anywhere, even got points, the hunter that is, lest someone think the dog's owner.
In forests, hills and mountains this law should still hold, then take your pets there and let them run around disturbing if not people then wildlife as it's their home. I don't understand you, what kind of people are dog owners? I'll never understand you.
Very nice to watch ibex, chamois grazing on green patches among rocks, but nothing nice watching some unruly dog (from even more unruly owner who thinks everything's allowed in mountains) chasing chamois on rocks so they don't know where to flee. Let someone write if sight of dog chasing game .... is a NICE sight?
best doggy regards Tom

On rocks where chamois and ibex scamper it's hard for a dog to scamper too since it's no goat, if you've seen it you've seen a "unique" event because you were there, other people and a dog too ... wildlife fears humans too and quickly nimbly escapes ...

Tom, I'd ask you to send me a link or at least the exact title of that law so I can read it, since unfortunately I haven't found it anywhere despite searching everywhere.

So much talking...Typically Slovenian, won't admit fault even if it's who knows what, here chasing what if what happened what not..Law and rules are written don't philosophize. You just "swallow" the mistake and heed it ahead. Don't you like yourselves I mean letting get so riled up..Nice day. Sašo.

This law still holds, though adjusted. Only a game warden with a witness can enforce it, and if the dog chases game, especially if not a hunting dog and clearly not an organized hunt! Sašo.

How adjusted? The law I read and studied is the Hunting and Wildlife Act where nothing says that a hunter or game warden can shoot a dog if chasing game etc. Maybe I missed something so I won't claim it's not there, I'm going to reread everything from the start to check. If anyone knows another law where it might be written, please give info; I want to respect the law so I want to know what the laws say, what I can and cannot do.

You're still stubborn. I'm a hunter, and I have the law at home. I don't know the exact number. Better believe someone so it's not too late.nasmeh Sašo.

I know I'm stubborn, but I want to get to the bottom of things. Well, if you're so kind, please check at home and write when you have time; if it's hard for you (since you have everything at hand at home) I'll confirm it myself and look further.

Mrs. Dora
I think you have too much free time to study all this. Go to Gmajnice a bit, maybe they'll let you walk a dog and you'll do a good deed, and you'll be in the fresh air too.

Look. The thing is clear, dogs mustn't chase game! In no case, except if they are hunting dogs and on a joint hunt with hunters. No philosophy needed here. Even if your dog doesn't injure game, it mustn't run after it. Especially bad in spring and summer months when game is pregnant and then has young. So if your dog masters recall 100% and doesn't stray from your line of sight, then keep it off-leash. Otherwise, keep it on a leash. When someone shoots it, no laws will help you anymore.

I'll gladly go to Gmajnice if you arrange with my boss that I walk dogs during working hours.nasmeh

But does the boss allow internet and the current circumstances too? Good boss, maybe he would allow Gmajnice too.

That moment when you type "maybe I really overlooked something", I really recommend Gmajnice. Puppies are waiting. Keep the dog on a leash, then it won't chase game, scare people or run on others' property. You have an incredibly good boss who lets you hang around here. Or maybe you fool him like us too. Hunter Sašo, already from the writing it's clear that you like nature and animals, especially game tastes good to you

This sentence is already quite slimy, change the style a bit: "Keep the dog on a leash, then it won't chase game, scare people and run on foreign property" jezik

How annoying you are! Why have we now come to hunters? From mountains, through Tivoli, to dog shit between blocks, to plastic dog, to supposedly "sick dog owners" and to hunters... My father is also a hunter, so:
1. it very rarely happens that some dog chases game, so stop highlighting it here - especially I haven't seen hunters in TNP waiting for chamois and instead meeting a dog that strayed 50 m (where? was it climbing rocks?!) from the owner and shot it (the dog, that is).
2. If Doro is interested, let her be interested, just as you want to lecture her, she returns it to you.
3. I came across a case where a village dog gnawed a roe so badly on a field that we had to call my father to put it down. We didn't see the dog again, let alone the owner. But I emphasize - it happened in a village forest, not in mountains. I was angry at the owner too, but in all the years that my father has been a hunter (30 years!) it was his first and I hope also last case.
4. Mr. Sašo, have you been on ambush, seen a dog chasing game and then shot it? If so, I'm very sorry that happened to you. The dogs we're talking about here are not hunting dogs, not trackers, and on my walks I haven't encountered a frenzied dog running after game, at most after a bitch in heat. As far as I know (I also went feeding with my father), game comes out early in the morning and in the evening - then I doubt there are any owners and their dogs on crowded daytime paths - if there are, they are guilty themselves.
5. We are all part of nature, believe me, dogs even more than us. Man intruded into this nature and if he has the right to be in it, so does his dog. If you really want it pristine, don't go there yourselves. I will, because I know the latter is impossible, especially nowadays.
6. Stop being so pessimistic. You'll obviously never get to the bottom of this matter. One debate opens another, there are always enough triggers. I think everyone can have their opinion if it is justified, but it is not right to be intolerant of others.
and also
7. Mrs. Jana, the laws are clear, no one is fooling you. At least don't count me in.
8. Dora, in your place I would give up, just as all the owners trying to explain here would give up that no one wants anything from you; if you have a different feeling, resolve the issue when a concrete case arises. Here I think it is time for a friendlier and more useful debate.

And one more thing: dog owners get upset here only because you lump them in the same basket with everyone: abusers, irresponsible people, negligent ones... Their replies are justified, since some words are really offensive. In the future, have the courage and complain to that owner who will bother you again on your path IN THE MOUNTAINS (since I think we are on hribi.net). Here the remarks are a bit out of place.
